Yet their aliens and predators and terminators sucked :rotfl

While I'll give NECA a clear lead in terms of accuracy and articulation, McFarlane's stuff was well ahead of what else was on the market at the time. Heck, I still reckon their 12" Predator is my personal favourite interpretation of the character.

Would NECA even be in the Alien / Predator game if McF hadn't set the precedent waay back in 2003?

You guys are too picky to be alive. :lol Those figures were the best thing to happen to this franchise, and you know it. Without them, no NECA, no Hot Toys....no nothing.

The figures rocked. Period. You can post all your little inaccuracies and what not, but those things were amazing back in the day.

....Halo? Sorry but meh :dunno But thats just me, I'm not a gamer.

So? The line is still amazing. They have everything you want in an action figure. Good paint jobs, articulation, and amazing sculpts. Incredibly detailed sculpts...even at that scale.

I will give you that!!....I did by all the ALIEN AND PREDATOR stuff Mcfarlane put out....and yeah, they were the best, cause there was not really anything else.....

exactly. i think most of the McFarlane bashing is coming from kids who grew up on Pokemon and they don't have a frame of reference when it comes to appreciating what McFarlane did with the franchise. sure, they're lame compared to what we have now, but they were pretty cool back in the day. hell, i was even ecstatic when the 90s Kenner toys came out because there were essentially no Alien/Predator figures at that point and you were limited to model kits/statues. or you had to be one of the lucky few who owned the original 1979 Kenner Alien.

I said it before, but I still consider McF's Celtic Predator to be my favorite figure of all time. When I saw that, I wanted nothing else. And when I found it, I was so happy. I remember that day....ahh....:D

Everything you want in an action figure if you give two s__ts about Halo. If you don't McFarlane are no use to you anymore.

However I never said I didn't enjoy them while they were putting out stuff I was interested in.

I still proudly display my McFarlane Terminator, Alien, Predator and Robocop figures....or would if I had shelves.

McFarlane were STILL crappy back in the day (so were kenner and whatever else came before them). The only advantage they had were that they were the only ones around.

yes there is a very good friend of mine over at the McFarlane forums who mentioned time after time after time after time after time that the figures were always breaking from the pegs they stood on but no one listened.

Here's a commissioned berserker custom I made... I think it looks nice!

stopped by TRU tonight...nothing but a bunch of crap on clearance...and not even anything worth buying on clearance either. Patiently waiting for the new wave of Preds.

Doesnt matter. The figures are still great. I'm just saying, they still have the talent.

Well, I finally bit the bullet and got a set of NECA Predators today.

In hand, the sculpt / paint is on a par with Mcfarlane's IMO; they do score better for articulation and the more neutral basic pose.

OTOH, I am irrationally impressed that they refer to the Predators as "Yautja" and give a little bio for the Falconer & Berserker. It shows a bit more respect for the fans & wider Alien-Predator universe than most companies manage. Tankman's influence perhaps?
