Re: NECA: New PREDATOR movie figures announced

Please, could you go into a Microsoft paint program and show me where the elbow shoulder and other joints are? I really am having trouble seeing them. Also, it seems you already know the answer to your request. Maybe you don't want to accept that answer though, but you know they will be made like every other Predator NECA has made.
it's not i dont want to accept your answer, it's just that everytime someone is saying something cant be done because of such and such factor, it always irks me. that kind of argument has been proven wrong everytime by a toymaker worth a damn. everytime. neca has had their figures painted or molded in color. there's always a way to get around the cost. it's a choice, it's not impossible.
EDIT: In fact, I already went into a paint program and circled where Figures.com said there would be joints. Please tell me if you see joints in the cirles. Thank you.
from that pic alone, i can easily spot the ball jointed shoulder(the left one is easier to notice) and the v-crotch. elbows and hands joints are harder to see because of the design. sure, maybe the proto doesnt show all the poa yet, but some are clearly there. and based on the work of neca's previous predator, i can quite predict the rest of the poa will be quite well hidden as well. even that v-crotch looks better than the ht's crotch.

I did most the T1000 and Sam Lute worked on it also. He is a huge Terminator fan and I let him work on it for a few weeks while I got started on the Predator. Right now we aren't working on any Alien Stuff. Randy and I both want to make the Queen but the boss has to say OK. With NECA you never really know what will happen but it seems to me most everything I ever wanted seems to happen. I can tell you I'm aways way geeked out and the job has been really great.

Kyle, so in case you missed my earlier post... please paint the ENTIRE figure this time around. dont just mold the plastic in skin color. to my eyes, the difference is like a high end prize and a cheap looking toy.

and it'd be nice if you get to do ALL the movie figures for neca. with neca, sometimes you get A level quality, and at other times you get Z grade garbage. and all even within few months apart. the gap between the polar opposite is really quite astounding. it's really frustrating to me as a collector of neca movie figs.

I think it would be cool if an 18" figure is done and they don't add the joints - or at least the visible joints. It just cheapens the product. It's not that you can put him in many poses anyway.

Re: NECA: New PREDATOR movie figures announced

You can't see what's NOT there. Obviously. Everyone knows the joints aren't integrated into that prototype.....Eveyone but that guy.

Nice presentation BTW Seth! :rotfl

everyone knows, eh?

yeah, obviously there are NO ball jointed shoulders. obviously.

the joints here are well hidden. the ugly joints of ht preds have obviously ruined your eyesight. obviously. go draw circles on the pics if that'd make you see better.

I wish Tankman would let us know if there are joints on this are not, so you guys can end this ridiculous argument.

I mean seriously, this is one of the most retarded arguments I've seen on this board.

Me, I'm on the "There are no articulation points on these" bandwagon.

Me too, it´s a concept.
It´s about showning the sculpt and the pose is surely you can achieve with the articulation, but on these?!
No articulation...kinda upscaled statues.
Somewhere inbetween 7"-12" for details...

I didn't even realize there was such a debate about it - I must have been skipping a lot of those posts. Yeah, these don't have the articulation joints on them - it's pretty obvious from looking at the figure.

i'm not paying attention to the nonsense.

I'm just looking at the pics and seeing if an 18" Pred is confirmed :D

i see that red circles on the pics are indeed needed for most people here.

here's another thing to consider then: the elder and pred1 is the same exact figure body wise but both figures have their arms positioned differently. so ponder this... if they used the same legs, the same arms, the same torso, would they bother to tweak with the shoulders just to give the two preds a little variation?

even more thing to ponder: look at the heads. elder is facing straight, pred1 is facing left of his body. are you going to say there's no necks articulation? i mean it's not VISIBLE, so it must have NO poa whatsoever, right?

WHO FOOKING CARES! :duh

WHO FOOKING CARES! :duh
seriously.

the figures will have articulation either way and the joints were already listed a bajillion pages ago.
and nobody is gonna get the prototypes so who cares if they're articulated or not? dumbest discussion ever.

well, i care. it does my heart good to put the talk-loud-but-have-no-clue kind of guy in his place from time to time. like this guy who claimed not to care but apparently care enough to take a side and spout this:
Me, I'm on the "There are no articulation points on these" bandwagon.
but i know your kind. the 'dont debate, just type profanity in capitals'. always have the biggest fun with your kind.

i said yes to poa in proto, another guy countered there are no poa. now i countered back. what, i should just agree with his opinion even though i think i'm right and he's wrong? if you dont like the debate then move the hell on, dude. you'll have plenty of time to talk/mull over other minute idiotics things about the figure. there'll be plenty of space in this thread for everybody, trust me.

Wow, I feel like a celeb now. :lol

I almost started this. All I did was politely disagree with him. Then he comes at everyone kind of reckless with name calling and implied insults.

I don't really get the point of the argument...
These statues usually aren't the original sculpture but casts, especially if there are different versions of the same sculpt. I mean, clearly Kyle is not going to sculpt the same figure twice. So I'm sure he sculpts one base sculpt and the casts are made of it to make the different parts for each version.
And those are usually already broken down into parts, so it's safe to assume the arms can be positioned differently because the shape of the articulation is already sculpted into it.

But that is pretty much beside the point.
We know what kind of articulation these figures will have and we also know the prototypes do not have articulation. So what is the point of discussing it?

Yeah, I am not sure either what the point is. All i was doing was pointing out that it didn't appear to have articulation.

But to move on, I am really feeling these figures. They look very nice. I think the attention to detail is magnificent and that Kyle is a freaking amazing sculptor. I wish I had my Wolf Predators still...

No, what you're really doing is making yourself look like an ass by arguing this truly pathetic piece of nonsense.

Nobody cares...but you.

So, you haven't put anyone "in his place", you've just made yourself look like a douche for continuing it. :rotfl

Can't wait to have these predators in my collection, that's all that matters to me at this point. oh the wait.is going to kill me.

From what I've heard, we'll get the PREDATORS figures before the first 2 movie figures come out.
