is that the lame crayola pred from that Dead End demo reel short? why does it still turn up in Predator discussions? and why would NECA ever consider making fan film characters?
Is this really where this predator came from? I thought that it may have come from the comics, but wasn't sure.

I think it's been two years since I saw the Dead End short on youtube. I honestly thought it was pretty good for a super low budget, made-by-fans, short film.

For the record, I think it looks hideous. It's not appealing to me, but those who have the figure, obviously, think it is.

Did the new equipment help any?
You mean in the drawing? The armor in the drawing is far better than the other pic, for what he is.

^ Yeah, it's from that... Never really liked that...video.
There is one fan-made film that was really good for a fan-made film, can't remember what it's called, it's like 20 minutes long.
Although I don't remember the name of it, I think of the word Requiem everytime I think of this fan-made film. Maybe the name is similar.

well, "made by fans" isn't entirely accurate. the director is a hollywood fx guy who made it as a demo reel to show to production companies in hopes of getting signed on to make real movies. that didn't pan out.

Yeah, I think I remember reading that it actually had a budget of around $32,000... :slap

$32k sounds pretty cheap for how it looks. but keep in mind he already had his own fx/production company at his disposal. and it's not like he had to pay real actors. i'd bet most of the budget was cameras and sound/editing hardware.

Thanks fellas for clearing that up.

Ha, I actually didn't get to watch it today.. A friend was gonna come over and we were going to watch it, but he had to cancel.

Tomorrow maybe..

Cool.
I just watched it again on my HDTV. Right at 22:55, pay special attention to the left-center area of the screen.
You'll notice a bluish, ghost-like object. It moves as if it is picking it's head up. :)

Here's a shot of the double jointed knee being used on the new P2 figs.

Shows how crouching will be possible.

Holy crap yeah, that does look good.. He's gonna have great poseability. Picture the scene in the slaughter house when he's trying to cloak but can't due to the sprinklers.. So excited. :panic:

At first I thought it was Mr. Black, but after watching the scene over and over it looks like theres too many things going on with the bottom of the mask for it to be him. Deffinitely Falconer.

Agreed. One other thing, although this is much more obvious....right after Berserker rips Stan's skull and spine out of his body you'll see his eyes glowing red. They definitely "glow" because you see them return to black shortly after.
Pure evil right there. :clap

skepticism... it's nice if the knees really can go that far, but i'll believe it when i see that the hips and ankles can bend like that without popping off.
