:yess::clap Neca I love you...

Wow, I saw the original link for those pics and didn't even notice those preds. Nice! Original story link here.

looks awfully blue to me. keep in mind that's an old pic taken outside and it's not a good one at that.

yep, too bad HT doesn't give a crap. they're the only company making them bigger than 7" but their sculpts are pretty lousy compared to these. you either get tiny low quality preds, or big inaccurate preds. the fans get screwed both ways. i guess we can't complain since we're getting them at all.

good lord that Borg looks amazing. must be nice to be able to go into work and look at that.

For what they are the smaller figures will be fine but yeah seeing them like this at work everyday is something. I wish we would do then 19 inches because they're so very cool. I give our painters crap they didn't do more with the poses on these guys when putting them together. They did a great job painting them up big time.

hey kyle, when are we going to see pictures of p2 city hunter with his bio helmet on?

Forgive my ignorance, but the painters are in charge of both painting and how the figure can be posed? I thought the painters and sculptors were usually different people. Again, forgive my ignorance if this is a dumb question.

I, for one, am glad Ram's blue. Imagine how great those colors could look if HT tackled him as their summer exclusive next year!

Pity that these will remain in 7" scale, though. I told myself I'd get off NECA's smaller line, but these new pictures are making the switch insanely hard. Aww... maybe I'll just get the P2 Predators and have them occupy a small spot. I don't even know anymore.
NECA, your sculpts are gorgeous, but your paint apps are killing sales! Those prototypes are beautiful! It's almost cruel; I feel like a kitten with a ball of yarn dangling in front of me, but by the time I get it, it's ruined and is nowhere near the perfection it once had. Meep.

It's at times I like this I start feeling a bit more naive, wishing that maybe NECA would start a new line aimed squarely at collectors. Limiting 7" figure edition sizes to 5,000 or less each (so basically keeping a few from the general production and pampering those like pricier figures), improving paint apps to the point where they look 99% like the prototype, and pricing them at $30 a pop. I would buy every single one in a heartbeat and I know for a fact that many of us on here would do the same. Sadly, such a thing won't happen.

qc on these have become pitiful. something needs to change now.

I rather just have them 19inches. Too bad we are limited on the smaller figures on what the factory can give us. I got the Elder here and he looks great but I can't help but look over that the 19 inch king. Maybe we'll do some lost Predators 19 inches one day. I haven't seen our P2 masked yet. We never put the mask on our prototype yet so I'm not sure how it will look but I'm thinking it'll be great. Hope so anyway.

All very well put Blade. Damn these look fantastic. Its horrible to think of what massproduction is going to do to them.

I get castings of these and the production never gets to me all that much. HT sculptors get to see most of their stuff get painted up like the proto. I'm jealous.

That works too! I only mentioned the limited run of higher-quality 7-inchers since that seemed more likely to happen (lol, sure...) than scaling up these characters.

The thing is, NECA totally can make money by boosting the size, cost, and quality of their figures. If you guys put out a 1/4-scale P2 with even better quality than the P1 (practically matching the prototype) and price it at $100+, you may lose a lot of lower-end customers, but the higher-end ones will more than make up for it. If the work is truly deserving, we'd all fork over the big bucks easily. A transformation in the manufacturer would lead to a transformation in the customer base. Unfortunately, that's just the problem. NECA's not that kind of company, which is a pity as others have said.
Can't think of any sculpts more deserving than yours, Kyle.

Here's to hopefully seeing more of these great sculpts getting the paint apps they've longed for. :chug

Ah, I love smilies. You can do anything. :)
