Everything is broken in this thread, lol
Neca should add glue for the small Predators.

Thats a damn loterie

I read on the Neca twitter sometime back that the fragile joints are because the factory is allowing too many air bubbles into the plastic as it dries, and with the paint sticking in there too, it's not a combination for any kind of pleasantness.

How do you know how I treat my collectibles? You are being incredibly presumptuous. What, attempting to move the arms of an articulated figure is 'treating them like toys'?? Does anyone else agree with that?

I never had problems with McFarlane figures, you did, but I'm not here effectively calling you a liar and a moron about it - as you are with me without actually using those words. In what way do you think my experience with shoddy QC in NECA figures is in some way different to your experience with shoddy QC on McFarlane?
i own over two dozen NECA figures. i got them from several different retailers and online stores. none of them are broken, not one.

so, there are 3 explanations here -
1) i have impossible luck and the laws of odds and probability don't apply to me.
2) each and every single figure i own was especially made for me with painstaking care, while everybody elses were made entirely differently.
3) i don't move any joints before heating them first.

- what am i to think?

There's two separate issues going on: Stuck joints (which has been going on forever), and extremely brittle joints (which seems to be randomly showing up on series 3 preds).

I own probably over a hundred NECA figures (heavily collect the video game lines too). I've never heated up any of my figures, and only two of my NECA's have busted.

One was a Gears of War Marcus, whose arm just broke off as I was posing him for ebay pictures recently (not sure why, but the figure is really old, so whatever), the other was masked pred from series 3, whose arms snapped off unusually easily when I tried to move them. It wasn't just stuck joints - trust me, I'm very familiar with that issue.

My two Elders from series 3 were just fine, but there have been many reports of him having brittle joints as well. So yes, I think I got lucky with my Elders - and yes, I think you got lucky with your series 3 preds too.

Do you really think that NECA intends to have people treat their toys before messing with them? (don't fool yourself, they are toys)

If that was the case, maybe there should be a warning next to the age limit sticker you always mention: "do not attempt to move without dipping in hot water"

:lol c'mon man, you gotta realize how silly that sounds, right?

Ok then. Now lets take everything you wrote and pretend I said it with regard to your experience with McFarlane. Again, I never had these problems with McFarlane - perhaps I would now but then I haven't bought a figure of theirs since MM7. When I was buying them however - none of this breaking straight outta the box $h!t. See your points numbered 1 and 2. As for point 3 - never needed to be done. :huh

Another common factor by the way - I didn't treat my McFarlane figures any differently than I've been handling my NECA ones.

Having to heat the joints is BS. We're trying our best and hoping our P2 stuff will be free of this bad breaking joints crap. I have picked up a few figures myself and a lot of them have stuck joints. Our P2 test shots are better than I hoped for and the articulation in the legs make it a much more fun figure than the P1. I only hope the factory will do a better job. As far as McFarlane goes we've used the same factories they've and at times the figures are fine and at other times not so fine.

I'm really hoping that NECA's recent lack of updates is due to them being so busy working on an Alien 3 figure.

Come on NECA...DO IT!

And any chance you'd do them at 1/6 aswell? I know you've left Predator and Terminator at 1/6 to Hot Toys but considering how innaccurate and degradeable the Hot Toys Aliens are it sure would be nice to get some better and longer lasting 1/6 aliens for the collection.

Now, I only have the NECA 12" T-800s and the 1/4 scale Predator, Alien, Robocop and Endoskeleton - however I've had no breakages on those apart from the neck pistons on the endo. So, unlike the 7" figures I have some faith that 1/6 scale NECA Aliens would...well they'd certainly be preferable to the joint-breaking, paint-flaking, feet-won't-stay-on, ragdoll - can't hold a pose, innaccurate and sometimes downright stupid-looking Hot Toys aliens.

Got my NECA Predator 1 yesterday.

Accurate, all joints move and another decent figure for the line up.

But I still wish the forearm can articulate in a rotation movement.

As it can only move up and down, due to the elbow joint.

However the leg joints, NECA have done very well and Predator 2 will be even better with the double articulate knee joint.

- Off topic but in relation to Predator 1 the movie, Kevin Peter Hall also plays the Helicopter Pilot at the end scene...

Woah! Just found that out today... :lol

FINALLY! Got my Series 3 figures after being stuck in customs since the 5th of last month they came with a $11 customs duty :slap

Good news is no qc issues, nothing missing, all joints feel sturdy and are not stuck anywhere etc etc... :yess:
