mine is like this too, i would say all were packaged like this, blame neca and their dumba$$ factories they use.

Mine is like this as well. I never noticed.

at least im not alone. :)

no reply from neca via twitter, they havent been on tho. when i do get a response will post bout it here. going to fill out the customer service contact thingy on there website as well, when i do will mention others have been reporting same prob.

thks for the info crazypred and werewolf.:hi5:

Observation : The NECA Predators(1/4 scale ) are not too removed from Hot Toys Preds. They're pretty good!

In the sculpt area they are a lot better than the Hot Toys Predators(except the Elder-the Mouth are too open).

But the Paint job are the big problem.

When I see pictures from the Toy fair ore Comic Con, I want this, not the poorly Endproduct.

I am on a art scool since 2 years:wink1:

Then you'd know the prototype (ie, what you see at Toy Fair and Comic-Con) for a piece like this would run you hundreds of dollars. Funny how that's what you really want, yet prices like that are also the reason you focus on NECA.

Whyis this oxymoronic ?

Because it's a figure. Figures are meant to be poseable, aka have joints.

I'll go ahead and put you on ignore now, that's the last I'm saying on the matter. Doubt that's the case for you though. :lol

I know this.

But some figure from neca ore other companies are really close to this prototypes.

A good, clean, vibrant paintjob on figures are possible.

Looks the gremlins ore the wolf Predator.

Many of the Paint Errors are avoidable. For example the false colors ore the fals technique to make the skin spots and patterns(on the wolf this are different). Glossy sharp spots on the new predators and mat bluured spots on the Wolf(and this looks more realistic).

If you're artistic then you should have no problems upgrading the paint, sculpt and netting to your higher standards. Great project for an aspiring artist like yourself.

For the $100 NECA is charging, the figures could come disassembled and be bright orange and I'd still buy and recommend them. Since there were no decent Predator toys for decades, I recall spending more than $100 (inflation adjusted) on a vinyl Predator kit with very limited articulation. True fact: I painted it while I was a sophomore in art school.

Talking about the 1/4 scale Warrior Pred now. I like the paint and sculpt on this beast. At 86 bucks shipped wasn't a bad deal.

Couldn't agree more, majority of the people here are too spoiled on HT, with accessories, paint apps etc. Then they would come to a thread about a consumer quality toys and are relatively cheap, then start bashing it. These toys are incredibly sculpted! That's all I want. :)

By the way, Badvermin, I'm starting my repaint in about 2 weeks. I just finished my T-800. :D

I personally appreciate both and buy HT and NECA products. I think both companies do great jobs on the licenses they have! :rock

NECA Trophy Skulls

NECA Trophy Skulls

Does anyone have a full list of the NECA trophy skulls that have been released (with the 7" figure line, series 1 to 8)?

I understand that some of the 7" figures have come with a human skull and spine, but it seems to me that only exclusive (TRU, SDCC, etc.) releases were packaged with trophy skulls. If this is the case, then I guess there are only 4 or 5 to currently collect (all on eBay, too).

This is all with a view of completing the collection ready for the NECA Trophy Wall... :wink1:

Anyone get Big Red?? I wanna get him but cant seem to find him in any damn Toys R Us near me! :gah:

Same here. I think hes starting to pop up in different areas. Since I missed out on Pre-orders I might have to put the word out to a few of my friends to keep an eye out for Big Red myself.

Well I don't think these guys are expecting Hot Toys standard paintjobs on their little NECA figures so much as just that NECA hit the peaks that they have in the past and are doing on other lines apparently.

what do you think..
if i buy $100 of 1/4 neca and spend another $70 to repaint the figures ?

for total $170
is it worthed or not ?

or i just PO the 1/6 HT predator with the sampe price ?

that's your choice. i don't collect ht predators anymore, because of their artist interpations on them, and i'm not paying $95 to $100 for neca's 1/4 predators with cheap, ugly, netting either.

you cant compare 1/4 and 1/6. Not to mention you drop $200 for a HT 1/6 and $100 for a NECA giant 1/4. No comparison.
