I rarely listen to that one - sorta like the Terminator 3 score. I would feel dirty.

Well I don't sit and relax to the A:Res score by itself. :lol

But I did watch it again after quite a few years and was surprised at how much it held my interest. Piss poor "Alien" film but as a nasty ass goofy French sci-fi pic, eh, it was all right.

I had forgotten that it was set 200 years after Alien 3. So Blomkamp doesn't really have to address that movie at all if his is set 30 years after ALIENS. She can still "die" in ALIENS 2 and then people can pretend that A:Res cloned her from *that* movie. Not that there would be any good reason to, it's just funny that you can retcon A3 out and still totally have room for A:Res. I guess she'd still have to end up with a Queen inside her but otherwise Blomkamp could do pretty much whatever he wanted.

I don't like what Blomkamp and Weaver are saying personally.

Weaver is straight up ********ting considering her comments are contradictory to what she wanted (and got) in 1991/1992. She wanted Ripley to die and go out in a noble way, that's what she got. She seems to get caught up in the integrity of the character, but then I think, why the hell did she agree to do Resurrection? Surely it's about dat cash flow. Blomkamp on the other hand is all like "rah, rah, 3 and Resurrection went of the rails, they were bad, not what I would do . . . . . but I'm not erasing them from continuity". What? :lol

If they make an "ALIENS 2" and make a movie that's nothing but fan service, I could see it turning to crap. They're going to have to tread carefully, they're walking on egg shells. If we all think the egg/facehugger being on board the ship in 3 is bad and a contrived plot hole (which I do despite liking the movie), I'm afraid to even think of what crazy **** they muster up for this one. Could be nonsense, especially if they try to fit in the films they consider to be "off the rails". You could potentially end up with a cluster **** of a story.

Blomkamp is going to have them go on this awesome adventure 30 years after ALIENS, find some cool de-aging cryotubes, hop in them and on their way home an egg opens on the Sulaco.

One of my favorite scores. It's so powerful. I feel like I'm on a higher plane of existence when I listen to this and Prometheus' score. :lol

It'll all be overlooked as long as Hicks is there with his pulse rifle.

Now that I think about it, isn't that godawful Aliens: Colonial Marines game officially "cannon"? Hicks is alive in that game. Wey-Yu boarded the Sulaco while they were in cryo-sleep and replaced Hicks with a random person, for no apparent reason, and also conveniently forgot to pick up Ripley for, again, no apparent reason.

"Hi, I'm Randy Pitchfraud. Welcome to Jackass!"

I'm betting that won't happen and I've been right about every guess up to this point. Blompkamp is going to ignore 3 and 4. Maybe his second half of comments where taken out of context. There's no way you can make a film between Aliens and Alien 3, it won't make any sense and would be worse than if they just left it alone.

Yup, it's kind of hilarious :lol

As usual, I've heard Copley is the only good thing in it.

I wonder if Blomkamp will apologize for this one too..... Well, the new Alien movie's gonna suck.

Hollywood Reporter

"'Chappie': Film Review

As in crappy.

With unappealing one-note characters, retread concepts and implausible motivations, 'Chappie' is a further downward step for director Neill Blomkamp."

Don't be surprised if we hear about "creative differences" in a month or two with this Alien reboot. The timing of the Alien thing now smacks of a well placed PR damage control from Blomkamp's people.

"kid you gotta get this Alien thing going before this stinker comes out"

I bet Sigourney is now rethinking about talking up this guy so much...

Ruh roh. Could be another M. Night Shyalaman situation here. :panic:

Yup, one trick pony.

Aliens 5 will take place in South Africa and for the first time ever the Alien creature played by Sharlto Copley, will be the victim and chased by Hicks and Ripley because he's valuable and the only hope to save his species :lol
