The whole queen face***ger plot point, other little bits and pieces to compress the narrative.
Used theatrical version of the birth, it's more emotional and better looking.

A3 is a great movie and a great ending. But I don't mind Blomkamps Alien at all. We already have Resurrection ****ing the trilogy up so why not. And I love Blomkamp so why not.
I went to the screening and the Weaver talk yesterday and there is really no doubt that it's on. She was very excited and talked about it without even being asked. She was meeting with Blomkamp in South Africa only a month or so ago she said.

Weaver Says Blomkamp’s ‘Alien 5’ is the “Most Satisfying” Ending to the Alien Story

One of the comments on the article:

Ohhh yay; eveything and everyone lives happily ever after in the Alien franchise!

Can see where he's coming from. Always got the impression from Blomkamp's comments way back when this was first a thing - I believe he said Alien 3 made the series go off the rails - I assume the fact that the film killed everyone is what made him feel that way. Back in the day I felt the same but I learned to live with it and realise, well, why should there be happy ending for this series? Does there really need to be?

That said, I can't see how they'd get away with not killing anyone important in Alien 5. So how can it be totally 'happy' ending. It'll be gas, after so many years they bring Hicks back only to kill him again.

Still have doubts that this will happen. Ridley's new Alien could still under perform at the box office.

For sure. I really don't see this happening. Did anyone like Prometheus enough to want a sequel? :dunno

Give us a True Alien Sequel for Christ sakes

Doubt this ends up being as good as Alien 3, if it even happens at all. I guess a happy, upbeat ending where the good guys win is great for those that want it. For me, it doesn't really fit the tone of Alien where every crew member but Ripley and her cat are brutally murdered and she finds out that she's been floating in space for decades and missed her daughter's life.

I don't care that Ripley, Hicks and Newt are dead anymore. Ripley's life always sucked. Having Hicks and Newt get offed fits with the despair Ripley was always experiencing. Oh well.

Agree. In my view A3 is pretty much perfect (except from cgi and a few other things) but that said, Blomkamps Alien had to be seen and A3 will still exist and be the original third movie. As I mentioned before Resurrection already gave Ilya a 'what if' scenario so why not one more.

I assume you mean the rod puppet dog alien? Because the only CGI that appeared in the film (other than computer screens) were the cracks that appeared on it's head right before it exploded.

I know I know. It was not the rod puppet that was the problem, that looked great, but the transfer to the film and yes those cracks and the final scene with Ripley falling. You know what I mean don't you? ...I have of cause watched the 'making of' and have the Japanese 'making of Alien 3' book as well. Love the puppet. Actually look very much like the HT dog alien.

Well, yes. If the leading role of a movie and the director assures you that a movie is still planned for production right after another movie already in production and you still say 'wont happen'. Then yes your glass is half full. Not saying that there's no chance it won't still be canceled, but hey, at least there's a pretty good reason to see the glass half full here. Just saying.

It's not that a mind that Hicks/Newt were killed, but at least give them a heroic death.

Ok fine, have Newt die in her sleep BUT NOT Hicks for christs sake!

Or if you want nihilistic everything sucks then really go dark and have Newt snatched from their loving arms kicking and screaming then showing her chest pop later.

If you're going dark then go all the way, not this off camera crap.

Disrespectful to the hardships we watched them survive one movie prior.

Have them take some Aliens along with them if they were going to be written off.
