Hobby Search are also doing their bit to make sure customers receive their Sano Aliens undamaged. I received this email from them today:
"Thank you very much for contacting us.
Regarding this packaging problem, we have been in touch with Roswell Japan, and they are offering to re-pack the statues this time for us, so that the package is safer for shipment overseas.
We also intend to bubblewrap the package that Roswell Japan will be sending us, and put this in a larger box, just to make the package more secure for shipment.
Although this process will take a little time, this is for the best safety of the statues, so we hope you can understand and wait a little longer for the shipment of your order.
We greatly appreciate your understanding and patience, thank you very much."

"Mr. Sano knows you from the forums, too.
Thank you again.

you seriously complained about that tiny hole?
you seriously complained about that tiny hole?
... a piece at this price I would also enquire about any little thing that seems out of place.
Regarding the packaging, I wonder if the plastic which suspends the statue can actually stretch far enough to reach the interior walls of the box walls upon impact to cause the loosening of pieces....like when u see slow-motion footage of something like a cell phone dropping on the ground and you see that it actually flexes like a leaf spring, our you see someones nose reach their cheek when slapped across the face....this plastic would be extra elastic if packages are truly treated the way that ups guy demonstrated when he delivered that flat screen monitor by hurling it over that gate a few weeks ago...if so...needs stronger plastic our extra padding within rhe box next tothe actual statute to absorb impact n prevent it hitting interior box walls...
From what I can see. The plastic doesn't stretch, it holds the piece tightly between the them, too tight in fact, so the impact transfer directly onto the statue itself, instead of doing the magic flex to prevent damage like it suppose to do. All they need is extra foam pedding in and around the statue and inner box in the outer box.

"Hello, John.
I am Yumiko again.
Now we are holding all international shipping as providing a guarantee of
safety.
We had some discussions with packaging company about packaging materials
for safety shipping.
I will ship you once it ready.
I appreciate your understanding.
Thank you again.

Removing the mold seamlines from the kits is a tedious labor of love, but is underway.
I'll definitely post pics at each significant stage. I'm still removing seam lines between other projects. I hope to get another bit of time to scrape this week and assemble the bulk of the parts.
