Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

I do notice that the people that have replied directly to my post, to tell me to stop, are the four that have made the most fuss and noise about missing pieces, multiple post to go on endlessly about the same minor fault.

Is that boring? Oh boy yes, you bet it is!

As for this "protect the princess" factor you refer to...sorry, I don't know what that means. What I do know is that they don't need me to speak for them...they are grown ups, they are more than capable of defending themselves. No, I am basing my defence, my position and my posts on my personal experience with BCS and how they solved my own 'missing-item' problem....and I can promise you it was a lot more major than a missing cube.

I do stand up for them simply because I chose to, because they have dealt with me fairly and properly and when I met them they were very down to earth decent blokes trying their best.

What's more, I intend to continue to do so...until they prove themselves as being insufferable crap merchants with bad attitudes (a lot like the fickle and contrary 'tudes on display here), hawking awful and crappy tat.

So sue me.
That's fine and all but when we have something to say don't interject and try to force us to be quiet and try to handle the situation. You don't handle our money, you're not on BCS customer service team, and you're certainly not our parent.

When have I tried force you to be quiet? How could I interject? Is that even possible on a public forum? You post what you post regardless of what I say or think. You are not on my ignore list (no one is actually) and I have no intention of even trying to stop you express your opinion - that way lies madness. I cannot stop you from saying whatever it is you are wanting to say either way.

Why do you feel so threatened by what is only my opinion? To me, the whole tone of your post is odd. :dunno

No we are not. But it's the whining post that chase company participation away. If you have a CS issue go through the proper channels and be patient and understanding. Two or three guys have turned what was a great thread into microcosm on the growing sense if entitlement amongst the more sensitive in our hobby.

Just play it cool and don't turn this thread into a customer service forum. Start a new thread for that.

:exactly::goodpost:

BCS have gone from being the best communicators to where they are now as the work has piled up over their heads. Totally understandable. I am as frustrated as anybody, but I do understand what they are going through as they try to produce a brilliant range of products and deal with the factories in China, customer complaints in Milwaukee etc etc. Lets all just calm down, deal with CS issues through the correct channels and wait.....and if necessary wait some more and............if necessary ............

One day I will have my Amy, my 10, my 4 :peace

Like someone said earlier, I'm sure BCS appreciates the critiques and not just the constant babying you guys provide.

Well, like someone else said a few posts back, I don't think we should blame the (irritated) customer for what are, in truth, BC's problems. They chose this license, and they should be able to handle it. We're talking about Doctor Who here. I'm just kind of curious what exactly they expected to happen with this license. Surely they were aware of how much business they would be getting?

I will say that BC is putting some people in a tough situation where they want to be patient and understanding, but have to open a Paypal dispute because the clock is ticking. You only have, what, 45 days to open one? If you don't and you paid with Paypal funds rather than a credit card, you could be in some deep doodoo. I'm not trying to say that BC would never eventually solve the buyer's issue, but.... You know. Most buyers wouldn't feel comfortable with that, I think.

Everyone I've seen having issues has been contacting BC correctly - via email and often via Facebook at the same time. I for one am grateful that they're sharing their stories on this forum. I come here to read facts, not fanboying.

In any case, I look forward to seeing how some of these kinks are worked out in the near future. And believe me, they must be worked out. Seems to me the only solution is to add more employees, but we'll see. Hopefully everything works out well in the end for both BC and the customers.

PS: Although people keep saying that the "whiners" need to cool off, I think EVERYONE needs to take a step back, including the people whining - yes, whining - about how people need to stop talking about customer service and their defective figures, and so on and so forth. There are attitudes coming from both sides here.

Creating strawmen while pointing out other people are creating strawmen.

Masterful. Well done, sir :hi5:

:clap

Yes. You got it right. Irony!

The only part I exaggerated was "demanding they stop business". The rest of it is all accurate.

Also, I think it's helpful to share if one had to open a Paypal dispute to get his/her issue fixed in. I think the bad needs to be heard along with the good. No...?

I guess if I were the customer and BC was unable to solve my issue without having to resort to a Paypal dispute, or took three weeks to respond to my email, I'd start feeling uncomfortable and unsure as to whether they value my business or care about my problem. Even knowing that they're a struggling new company, I'd be nervous, because heck, I've got a fair chunk of change on the line. It would just be natural on my part. And I would probably seek sympathy and someone to talk things over with here.

When you get 99% of your figure and are simply missing a $2 accessory I don't really consider it to be a "fair chunk of change on the line" anymore. Opening a Paypal dispute might be appropriate...using a public forum to leverage the company into answering it...that might not be as appropriate, IMO.

They hit some issues. I don't think anyone disputes that. I don't think anyone has said not to post the issues. I just don't see the point in railing away at it. (Mainly because its a super drain on the energy and excitement for a line/company that at this point is so small).

Alas, IMO their best course of action would be to announce their next figure, and move on so that we have something to talk about here.

Deal with all the CS issues that have been approached to them privately. With that, i'll follow my own advice and drop out of this conversation.

Show us something new!

Babying? :lol

Of course they appreciate critiques. Unfortunately some of you don't seem to understand the difference between a critique and titty-baby crying.

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

I do stand up for them simply because....

But you're not standing up for them. All you're doing is attacking anyone who has a problem. You're destroying this thread and you're making it look like they have more problems than they actually do. Anyone who reads this thread is going to think that Big Chief has constant problems. To the best of my knowledge, they don't. They're trying. They make a fine product and have some CS problems from time to time. But when the thread is just an argument about how people with problems DARE complain, it exaggerates the problem.

If your goal is to hurt them, bravo!

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

I think some people may not understand how nerve-wracking a purchase like this can be. For a lot of people, buying this figure is a big deal. They don't have a lot of disposable income and dropping $160-250 on a 12" figure isn't a decision to be made lightly. Imagine someone who had saved up for months to buy this figure. The box FINALLY arrives and they open it, insanely excited, only to reveal a defective figure. A big disappointment, yes? But surely the company has to do something about it?

Well, this buyer then goes online to this here thread and BC's Facebook page and sees people claiming that Big Chief doesn't respond to customer complaints PERIOD, while others tell horror stories of having to open Paypal disputes or wait months for a mere reply - not a resolution, but an email reply. At this point the buyer is probably, pardon my potty mouth, ****ting bricks.

They're scared and frustrated and disappointed. That's all.

I totally agree with this (in bold), I wanted to get one for my kid's birthday and was only able to do so because I struck lucky with an ebay auction that went for more then i expected. Then mine had a QC problem when it arrived, and it took a bit of sorting out, but in the end BC really came through - there was a bit of delay which I found frustrating but then they sorted it out in a way that left me in no doubt as to their sincerity. That's why I defend them. But I understand what you're saying, it was nerve-wracking and I felt really disappointed initially, but much more so because I thought my kid was going to be disappointed.

Other people have had poorer CS experiences and I respect their right to post on this 100% but I think it's not helpful to just keep restating and getting angry about it. Keep us updated sure if you're not being helped, but the other week it seemed like there was nothing else being talked about for days on end from the same handful of posters.

I don't know, what's the answer? Here I am, repeating myself, and there you guys are, repeating yourselves... I think we just need to tone it all down. People with issues naturally feel strongly but people with no issues or good CS experiences feel just as strongly and that's because the product is so good. It's got to be better than arguing because the sculpt is off or the body is floppy as hell, no amount of complaining can sort that out.

No one has done this!!!

Come on, can't we get past this? I have a suggestion. The next time someone posts with a problem, we sympathize, make sure they have the right email address and leave it at that. We don't accuse the poster of being "tit-babies," or wearing diapers, or tell them they should wait 21 days for a reply. We accept that BC makes mistakes sometimes, but we love them anyway.

And in the meanwhile, we talk about something else - like how crap the TV show has been this season? ;)

Yup, totally crap. Worst season yet. I was so not impressed with the sub childish plots and storytelling.
Comparing this to the BBCs other fantasy show, marlin , Merlin wins hands down.

The latest episode was over me just telling BCS that I emailed photos that they requested. I wasn't rude, I wasn't pushy. I just saw they were on here and I thought I'd catch their ear. There shouldn't have even been an issue.

I actually haven't seen Merlin. I've been watching Luther though, and that show's amazing! The writing is so strong.
