Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

To celebrate passing my driving test i decided to buy the 11 Tardis playset, fully willing to break it apart to customise. So with a can of beer and some tools i set to work repainting and adding lights...(not the best pics ever!)

Silence has fallen..

I missed out on the Styre pic, but I'm sure it's a cool fig. I'm more interested in seeing the big golf ball since I'm apparently gonna have to shell out for it to get Linx. :monkey4

Nice setup, N2k. Lighted console looks killer.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

I just hope that they tool new parts for Linx because there were several differences in his costume although the same guy played both.

Elisabeth Sladen tells a great story on the commentary for "The Sontaran Experiment" from the filming.

The guy in the Styre costume was an Australian actor called Kevin Lindsay who apparently had a heart condition so when they were out on Dartmoor he found it too much to walk back to the production's base camp for lunch so they used to send him something up on a tray and he'd sit on a rock next to his ship in full costume eating away.

One day everyone else got back to the location and when asked about how he was Kevin replied "I'm fine but a woman walking her dog just got the scare of her life!" :lol

Thanks!

The thing took about an hour to rig up, i also caved and bought the Fez doctor and Peri. Lokking forward to see what gets released this year in terms of classic figures, i think i would pass out if a classic console got a go ahead.

Well done you!:hi5:

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Got my Peri and Sil along with the Resurrection of the Daleks set and 11th Tardis with Amy. Kind of disappointed Sil isn't articulated. At the very least they should have given him an articulated tongue. He could be doing all kinds of things to Peri right now. :monkey5

Not getting excited for this like I usually would. I think I would prefer a carded Sontaran to the giant golf ball and a Tom variant I am not really interested in.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

I'm actually digging the ship, much to my surprise. Now, I'm dying to see the inevitable Time Warrior set.

I am, I've been wanting a series 12 Tom with the long overcoat for ages, hopefully it'll be reused in a "Genesis of the Daleks" set.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Is it going to be a major price tag considering the ship extra? the Peri and Sil set was a bit pricey but i think these are worth the money. Is that Tom the same as the Pyramids of Mars variant?

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

FP has it listed at the same price as the Resurrection of the Daleks set, so around $50-$55.

It's £34.99 and out on the 20th of February.

It looks like CO have cheaped out and used the Pyramids of Mars coat on the series 12 Tom instead of the red jacket but it really should have a new one tooled as he wore what appeared to be a duffle coat over the top of his red jacket in series 12.

The headsculpt is the same as the "Seeds of Doom" version from the 11 Doctor set.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Did Tom wear the plaid vest in S12? I always thought Terror of the Zygons was it's first appearance. I don't ever recall him wearing a tie like that in any story.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Ok, so I went and searched through some screencaps, and this outfit is definitely wrong. It should be the green tie/cartigan combo he wore all of S12. Where did they come up with this getup?

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

I would like to know as well. Seems strange that when a figure called for a variant (Planet of Evil) we were given S12 costume. Then when he actually doesn't change his costume (except for the over coat) all of sudden we have the orange vest and a red time.

Very strange for sure.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Another pic of a new product was briefly shown at GB last night, this time it was a "Genesis of the Daleks" Davros shown side by side with the one from the "Resurrection of the Daleks" set,

My most wanted Classic baddie is on the way! :yess:

I've been looking at a bigger pic of the Sontaran set and Tom's overcoat IS new and it also looks like his red jacket is slightly visible underneath....which doesn't hide the fact that the waistcoat is inaccurate for that series but it's fixable with a bit of part swapping like I did for my "Planet of Evil" custom,
