Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Well they got the crappy looking 80's Davros mask right.

I'll just have to hope that a "Genesis of the Daleks" set gets released down the line with a Davros that has a retooled head based on the Michael Wisher mask.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

I'd prefer a Wisher Davros, but I don't want to get stuck with another S12 Tom, and at least this one has a version of the Doctor I don't have.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

UT have a link to a poll on their twitter site that is a poll on which FIVE companions we would like to see. Go vote!

https://merchandise.thedoctorwhosite.co.uk/action-figures-peri-sil-vengeance-on-varos/

Scroll to the bottom. :D

So far The Brig, Ace, and Susan are the top 3.

I'd buy the first 2 like a shot but Susan is on the same list with Mel, Sarah Jane & Romana II as ones I haven't the slightest intrest in.

I voted for,

1.The Brigadier
2.Leela
3.Ace
4.Jamie
5.Zoe

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

I voted Adric, Nyssa, Tegan, Leela, and Susan...

Then I went back a second time and voted Jamie, Leela II, Ace, and Adric and Nyssa. :D

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Incidentally, I read a rumor that more multipacks based on all the other Classic appearances of Davros might be happening so it looks like I might get my "Genesis of the Daleks" set after all

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Of the rumored sets I am only interested in the Destiny version because thats a variant of Tom I actually want.

It might have Romana II as well.....I'd sooner have a Movellan.

I get what you & TheObsoleteMan are saying about the possibility of another season 12 Tom but I've said all along that a "Genesis" set is the perfect chance to make a proper variant..... all they need to do is swap the hat onto the serious sculpt and tool the long overcoat.

Other than that the only other new part that would need making is a new head for Davros so the development costs for the set would be minimal..........DO IT CO!

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Wisher's Davros is bad ass looking, its between him and the NuWho Davros in terms of best apperance imo

I voted for

Susan, Jamie, Brig, Romana, Ace and just to have a companion for everyone a Turlough.
Wow Jo Grant/jones is getting a lot of votes, that one wouldnt look out of place on my monsters shelve to be honest!

It is a huge shame that Michael Wisher wasn't available for the other Classic stories in which Davros appeared and had passed away by the time the character was in Nu-Who because his voice with that costume would have been amazing.

Roger Delgado was the definitive Master and Wisher was likewise for Davros. He was the only actor to play him as having a kind of verbal "tic" that had his voice becoming more & more like one of his greatest creations the more angry and unhinged he became.

He also seemed to spit out certain words eg "power" with such venom that it undoubtedly scared the crap out of many kids and sent the shivers up a few adults who knew of the atrocities commited by the Nazi scientists during the war.........the obvious parallel between the Kaleds and the Nazis in "Genesis of the Daleks" played a huge part in creating the amazing atmosphere that lifts the story above any other.

David Gooderson followed him in "Destiny of the Daleks" and wore the same mask but lacked the power in his voice and Terry Molloy was just awful, the mask was crappier and his characterisation was that of a generic ranting villain.

Then we got to Julian Bleach who got the greatest Davros costume ever but for some reason RTD had him rip off Emperor Palpatine's speech patterns from the end of Return of the Jedi and the dialogue was oddly similar as well........RTD had clearly run out of ideas by then.

My position on Jo Grant is this...............if I want a figure of the Joker, I'll buy one, not his Mum :lol

If Turlough is made his head will have to be positioned so it's permanently looking back over his shoulder. Watch him closely next time you see one of his stories.....he does this every few seconds and on the DVD commentaries I've heard from that era Davison & co always crack up laughing when he does it.

:lol i hadn't noticed that about him! I would just prefer him over Adric, Nyssa and Tegan as i dont like any of those companions from Davidsons era. Ace i think would look the coolest out of all the others especially if she came with her boom box or Dalek beating bat.
Grace from the TV movie is not getting much love but thats proberly to do with her not being much of a companion, still i want a companion for each doctor on my shelve so i will buy at least one for each era. (My Tennant section on the shelve makes him look a bit of a pimp surrounded by women and Barrowman.)

My season 18 Tom and 3rd doctor screwdriver arrived this week and i finally finished construction of my Screwdriver display unit with that one perched at the top.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Grace was never a companion so thats ok with me if she never gets made. (He invites her to go with him but she turns him down and at the end he leaves in the TARDIS alone).

For 8 I have been trying to locate an Abby figure from Primeval. So if any of you UKers can help me out there I would appreciate it. :)

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

I have a Nu-Who section in my display.........it consists of the 9th Doctor, 11th Doctor & Amy Pond.

By comparison the Classic section is currently a mere 90 figures including Cybermats & maggots :)

And that's not counting,
Peri & Sil ( haven't arrived yet )

2 Axons ( are being customised by WilliamShatnersToupee once he's moved house )

My 5th "Earthshock" Cyberman ( Will be made into a Cyber Leader when I can find my painting stuff )

3 Classic wave 1 Sea Devils ( Also in line for repainting )

2 extra 5th Doctors ( might resell these )

The VOC Robot with the light piping ( no room in my Tom section for more than 3 VOC's )

Pix,
I sometimes still see Primeval figures about so I'll see what I can do!

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Hey guys, I was wondering, I'm still missing the 3rd Doctor's Screwdriver, the Future Screwdriver (that River had) and the Master's Laser Screwdriver. Are they hard to find?

Oh, and I'm also looking for the Journal of Impossible Things, if anyone wants to sell it, PM me, please.
