Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

True.

Missi from DesignWorks was going to show some new pics at outpostwho but now he says he has to drawback from his involvement due to pressures on him... I wonder if Shaun Lyon's site (which has a toy forum but its lacking most of the key people who moved from DWF to outpost) had anything to do with this.

I read some of that and it's a shame that we won't get as many sneak preview pics but some of the unexpected announcements like the 4-pack, the 2nd Dalek 3-pack and the Regeneration 6th Doctor have gone some way to restoring my faith in CO and I hope it continues.

Maybe they'll make full retail waves for the safer character choices and save the riskier ones such as companions for ltd release SDCC/FPI Exclusives?

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Something is rotten in the state of Denmark...

Billy has a paint rub right on the end of his nose (which was weird because he's packed well away from the front of the package. My buddy is sending me a replacement so no harm, no foul.

Pat was blemish free and very nice.

Is it wrong to be attracted sexually to 5 inch representations of old men? If it is then I don't wanna be right...

Have some pics...Kleenex at the ready...

Brilliant aren't they?

Billy comes packed with his walking stick and a shirty attitude (oh...and the Saucer Commander Dalek from Dalek Invasion of Earth) and Pat with his trusy recorder (not pictured) and a Tomb of the Cybermen Cyberman.

These puppies were £24.99 for each set which does seem a little steep but they had to go exclusive to get them out and to be honest I would have been happy to pay that for just the Doctor figures.

There was another...

The 6th Doctor in an outfit from the 'Real Time' graphic novel series.

A simple repaint...but a nice one...

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Nice pics, it's a shame about your 1st Doctor having a paint rub on it especially considering the price of the set.

I'm really looking forward to having all 9 Doctors on display and with Pertwee now confirmed it hopefully means McCoy & McGann won't be too far behind.

Doubtful. You're giving fans too much credit.

No online worries about this line are founded. That is all I can say. :)

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Well it sounds good to me... I hope we won't have to start calling you Barbeleddie though. ;)

You can do that when I start repackaging other people's spoiler posts as vaguely worded riddles that will look "correct" no matter what happens.

I don't pretend to have connections or inside information. I took advantage of being in the right place at the right time and asked the two most obvious questions concerning this line. The answers will make everyone happy. Anyone else who was there could have done the same. I'm not special.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Well lets hear it then.

My questions were answered and then hastily followed by a "please don't share that" type comment. I'm trying to honor that request and help you guys to avoid months of needless worry. Next time I won't bother with the latter.

The two most common fears about this line are groundless.

The end.

My two biggest fears are/were,

1.The lack of variety in terms of character choices that CO have long been rumored to have imposed on themselves.

2.The way the Classics have been primarily been marketed to kids who weren't even born the last time the Classic show aired on primetime TV instead of adult collectors.

The second one is now as good as gone due to the FPI Exclusives but I'll still remain sceptical about the chances of any companions or close allies of the Doctor being made until new product announcements prove otherwise.

On the subject of FPI Exclusives I ordered the 2nd Doctor & Cyberman set
( colour version ) today so I should have it by the end of the week :banana :banana :banana

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

I will say this: the B&W exclusives look great in package but they look like caca in display with colored figures.

I don't think those are fears so much as criticisms.

Whatever, I am at least more confident about the future of the line than I was previously and if CO could release the first versions of Doctors 7 & 8 in December then it would really set things up for 2010.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Billy and Pat arrived about an hour ago. From what I can tell they look great and have no paint defects.. Pics shall be forthcoming. Just finally happy to only have 3 Doctors to go.
