Even in silhoutte, Gimli has some really good detail. You can see his beard is going a couple of different directions and I like that it features his Battle Axe!

Nice!! These are looking great. I never doubted we'd see Arwen and Gimli, and i guess this means Boromir is next. Lurtz in armour would be great, but i'd prefer a more important bad guy like Saruman. But most of all, now we've seen 4, possibly 5 of the fellowship, what i'd love to see most of all are the hobbits, with Merry in Rohan armour.
I do note also how these look to be more 'flashy', more super-hero like, which is the only shame, and probably why i like Strider the most. It'll be a case-by-case deal for me over what i get, depending on whether it improves my existing collection or not.
Agree with the post - possibly in another thread - about the need for every strand of hair and robe to be billowing in the wind. I guess they all must have been up Caradhras for their photo-shoot

It's looking like a great line to get into, but I am set on the PF's so was hoping for some news on them (not generic Orc though). Good to see the line getting a lot of interest, but it still smacks of avoidance to those who invested in other lines such as dio's, LSB's, 1/6 poseable and PF's.

Awesome preview. I was hoping for a peek at the Mordor Orc PF, but this is great as well. Aragorn, Legolas ('bout time he was depicted in his Helms Deep armor, Legendary Scale Bust notwithstanding), and Arwen look fantastic.

I'm still a little iffy on Gandalf, but that's probably because the Gandalf the Grey PF is the PERFECT depiction on the character IMO, and the fact that I already have eight (if I remember correctly) incarnations of Gandalf. Due to budgetary / space considerations, he may unfortunately get the ax.

I will reserve judgment until Gimli is shown in full, but I really don't like his leaping pose. I'm sure I'll change my mind when the full maquette is shown.

Bring on Boromir in Gondorain armor.

Oh, one more comment: I ABSOLUTELY love the bases for this line. I really liked the detail of the windswept grass on Aragorn's base, and I see SIdeshow has continued that with the detail on the other pieces.

Wow, I was just sitting here contemplating canceling the first two exclusives. Just to save money for the year and the new Alien maquette. But, wow, that's not going to happen now...

I had every intention of canceling Aragorn and Gandalf because I know I'll be spending over $1000 on the Emperor, C-3PO and R2-D2 PFs. I'm torn after seeing this group shot of the LOTR maquettes though. Torn I tell you!

Glad that I am not the only one that makes that distinction. We will get all nine members who participated in the Fellowship at various stages of their journey, but Legolas is from Helm's Deep (after the breaking of the Fellowship) and Boromir in his Gondorian Armor is almost a Prequel character! I'll still be happy to get all nine members of the fellowship regardless of the outfit, but I hope that the PF line actually has them in something resembling the gear they wore when they set out from Rivendell!

I remember the complaints about Pippin (I know I was bummed out) but I know a LOT of people have been clamoring for Gondorian Captain Boromir, so maybe the love of this representation of the character will outweigh the fellowship feelings.

Pippin was also at his least heroic and it wasn't a very flattering portrait or pose! That led to some of the dismay!

I wanted one in PF, with Gondorian flag in one hand and sword raised in the other hand, but we can't go wrong with Boromir in his Fellowship garb as well, especially if Sideshow does his black bearskin traveling cloak as an exclusive.

I want Boromir to be the next hero PF. Sorry, Gimli.

Nope, it was posted at 12:01 AM PST, the same timeframe as most of the sneak peeks with the exception of the Day 1 SW preview [9:00 AM PST] and the Day 5 Predator LSB sneak peek [2:00 AM PST]
