Arwen looks the best to me. Will spring for that one. I have other SS versions of the other characters and am happy with them. The Arwen is something new and different and I love that outfit from FOTR.

Some nice looking pieces in this line. But, I think my LOTR collecting days are over.

The pieces all go well together. Legolas has a tiny bit of a strange stance, but not bad compared to some of the other stuff sideshow has put out lately (morgul lord PF!). I agree, arwen looks best, but her costume was momentarily off putting to me because I didn't think that was an iconic look for her. Nevertheless another line to keep me broke.

We already knew these were coming so no big surprise really. I was hoping to see a preview Boromir or even a baddie like Lurtz or Saruman. Nevertheless, this line is looking promising. I plan to keep my current pre-orders for GTG and Strider. I know the jury is still out as to whether Sideshow will stay committed to this line, but so far so good.

As I said in the Arwen thread they looke beautiful together. Brings a bit of a tear to my eye. This line will look so great especially as we see more pieces.

This looks like a very promising line. Now if sideshow could just finish the damn fellowship and deliver us the 4 hobbits plus Boromir.

They will. It seems that enough people are buying into the 'promise' of a Fellowship now that the dios, LSB's etc buyers have been abandoned, so I think they will really deliver on this one.:wink1:

So hope you are right DaveMac :yess:. This line is looking fantastic so far :clap.

I'm in! :wink1:

Given SS's record of dropping lines before completion a part of me hopes we get the hobbits paired together as 2 pieces rather than have 4 individual releases. At least that way we're guarenteed the full fellowship.

Really hope we also see some of the more overlooked characters in this line up like Theoden, Eowyn and Saruman.

That would be fine. Gotta have balance with them though especially if they are gonna be slower sellers. Thats whats gotten past lines the axe.

Not trying to be argumentative Josh, but what examples from Sideshow come to mind? I would agree that Sideshow has done a few sideline characters in the SW 1/6 line, but of course that hasn't gotten the axe.

I think he meant strictly LOTR lines...

Ok, so which characters has SS done that are considered sideline characters? :dunno

The Faramir action figure would be it right? All of their other lines have consisted of solely the main players - though I might concede Galadriel. :wink1:

I was speaking of from a selling standpoint getting things the axe. Not characters. Meant balance is a good thing but that will only happen if sales are good enough.

Gotcha. :wink1:

Of course it all comes down to sales, nothing shocking there; but I wonder if Sideshow might be surprised to find out how well the maquette line could do with previously unrepresented characters - guess I might be surprised too, though my money isn't on the line. :lol

The Mordor orc PF could be a litmus test and certainly the Berserker PF did well; neither of which are the same old Gandalf and Aragorns.

:dunno

Oh I'm sure certain characters would peak sales but there has been enough LOTR product now that Eomer is really among the few with almost no pieces. Like I've said in the past you have to have balance in a line.

I have some hope though, I like what I see with a prologue elf ... :hi5:

Oh I've said from the start I think this is the line for LOTR that folks will see the most characters from.

But there's only two lines left :lol , of course maquettes will move faster than the PFs. :hi5:

I like the movement that is achievable in the maquette line, though some newer PFs (Black Panther, etc) are really nice too.
