Way too much brown. Although, it looks like flash pics, which can exaggerate the lighter tones.
Other than that (the colour) it turned out pretty nice.

i took the liberty of adjusting the exposure some. Maybe DD can clarify if the in hand pics look similar to the adjusted pics?

The paint app is ok...the paint scheme is not good.
Way too reddish brown.
This is not what I've seen pictured in the eBay auctions for the painted piece at all.
Honestly...I'd be pissed too if this is what I got, because it looks nothing like what's being advertised in the auction.
These are pics from the auction...and it looks NOTHING like what he got...

I saw that but i'm under the impression he might have had more than one paint scheme for the alien?
I checked the feedback the buyer left for 2 of the kits and they seemed happy with the painted kit they got hence the query if there were variations to the paint schemes.

Those are the ONLY pics he's posted in any of the auctions for the painted piece.
This would lead anyone to believe that he was painting them all the same color scheme.
The piece the guy got is so far off from what was advertised that there's no way to claim it was just a simple variation.

If that's the case it would warrant some compensation from the seller.
However, I would say that it still wouldn't fall into the category of "crap".
I think it does seem to have the alien 3 paint scheme BUT if that was not said beforehand, then it would be misrepresentation.

I'll agree with Sabres on this.
That paint looks nothing like the pics. The shade is way off. I'd be unhappy with that paint job. The application looks good but, the shade is too orange. Looks like he went too heavy on the raw sienna.

Yeah but for a 16 year old that busted his ass for the money and he mentioned warped pieces,broken pieces, and the fact it did fit together tight would make me say those things.I don't think there the same artist that painted the same alien.I would'nt be wrong to guess reverend painted the auction piece and passed it for his work for selling stand point.Just guessing.......
Oh i hate that paint job.It looks like i pealed a bad orange...

I think it's fair to say we all work hard for our money so I don't want to play the "I work hard for my money" card.
I also wouldn't venture so far to say that the seller went off and used someone elses pics as their own.
I agree that the paint scheme does not match with the pics. However, I would not say it was badly painted or think it's fair to say it looks like crap compared to the orig pics.
Different yes. Different therefore justifying some compensation yes. Different to the extent of being crap ...no.

The paint apps look good to me. Too orange-brownish for my taste, but not terrible or crap.
Everyone has there look and im not one to judge.I dont think its factor in that paint job cost 360$ and looks nothing like the production shot.Different artist is what in seeing here,the first one that sold on ebay was painted by someone else -amazing- and these are ...........well, to each is own.

The paint app is definitely more orange undertone but I did use a flash with the pics so it is a little darker than it appears. As far as the paint application itself, it's pretty good. I don't know if I would pay almost $400 just for the paint. I would probably get the raw kit and have someone paint it to my taste for that money. But overall as a finished piece and for what I paid I am pleased with it. I will try and post some better pics without flash.

He does have different "paint schemes". I've seen two others.
Did the guy who posted the orangeish/redish pics order the one in Sabres pics? Because mine doesn't look that red/orange, but still is nothing compared to the original pics I saw.
Had the camera last night, my mom forgot to pick up the cord used to upload the pictures to the computer. Should have some tonight.
