New version: Mr. Toys Slave Leia

Ordered this from KGHobby buy havent had an arrival notice yet.

KGHobby have been very quick recently. I've had two Phicens and the Slave Leia all ship separately on the cheapest shipping, and all arrived in less than a week. Yet Toys Wonderland, even with their extortionate shipping prices, seem to be getting slower and slower.

They had been quick but have slowed down again. They have 2-3 things in stock that I ordered and not a peep. Maybe they have gone fishing?

I'm currently just re-painting everything on the set. I want the metal parts to actually look like metal. Also built a second bracelet to cover the ugly hand joints.

I'm using the RoTJ Leia sculpt but will not be adding the earrings.

I'm fine with her not being screen accurate As long as it is a decent representation.

How are you going about the repaint on the parts in regard to approach and technique?

I decided not to use my ROTJ Leia hs. I need to add earrings, just don't have the heart to put it on the HT hs and causes scratches on the paint.

The earrings look great! It’s funny as this HS just DOES NOT photograph will. I expect that the kinda wider head looks even wider with lens distortion. In hand, this is not bad at all and maybe not worth parting out a HT HS as others have said. Surely if you have an extra, that’s a plus. Need to find me some earrings hoops at Hobby Lobby.

Just pulled and wiggled and it eventually came free after a minute or so, possible they used a bit less glue on mine.

How are you going about the repaint on the parts in regard to approach and technique?

Hi, I'm just using acrylic paints, specifically the citadel paints : retributor armour, balthasar gold and nuln oil (shade) to help weathering.

I've been painting figures on and off for decades and always enjoy putting figures together and customising them much more than I do buying them fully completed. Way more fun.

As soon as the body turns up I'll get her set up and try and post some pictures of the end result.

You are lucky. A parcel containing 2 Shoretroopers is lost somewhere between KGH store and HK airport for two months now. They first tried to ship via Speedpack but was too heavy. They switched to DHL e-commerce and that was also a no go. It seems it's now been stuck in DHL facilities for more than two weeks and i can't seem to get any update. Ordered from them quite a lot in the last few years without any trouble. Not really happy with the way they are handling this issue i must say.

I've had nothing but good things to say about them over a dozen orders prior to this one so i can't really say they are bad. It's just that they don't seem to be very reactive when a shipment goes wrong.

No no no no. Kg actually attempt to help you and I’ve never had a permanently lost parcel with them. Their prices are great. The less said about that other place and we are all better for it

Dude that is fantastic! How many tries did it take to get the shading right? I’m finishing up Proxima Midnight before I get started in earnest on this one, but your blueprint is the perfect plan. Bravo!!!!

PS: I tried printing that hair claw and so far it’s failed three times. Not sure what the deal is. Maybe it just doesn’t want to scale down that far. Still working on it.

That’s cool. I’m trying to think of I want to Spaztix this thing and then weather it down from shiny. Very interested in seeing your results.

Thanks DCFett, I can't remember how many times but I started thin and build up slowly from there, took me almost 2 hours I think (with mistakes here and there)
