Hi Shawn,

I really like your Dead End Custom, but what I would love personally is a Selene from Underworld. A Crow would be really cool too, as would a Michael Myers from Halloween. Do we have an approximate price breakdown?

Thanks

Hey guys,

Here's a breakdown of what I make curently:
89 Keaton
Returns Keaton
Batman Begins
Indiana Jones (special edition)
Lurtz
Spawn
Dead End Batman
Dark Knight Returns (Frank Miller) Batman
Jack Sparrow (currently being retooled a bit)
"V" for Vendetta (still working out a couple things there)
The Crow

Some things I've put on hold for modifications:
Nicholson Joker
Jim Lee Batman

What I'm doing now:
Michael Myers (classic)
Michael Myers (Rob Zombie)
young Michael Myers (Daeg Farech)
Dr. Loomis (classic)
Dr. Loomis (Rob Zombie)
Selene
"Underworld" werewolf (this sucker will be amazing, if all goes according to plan!)
Cheers,
Shawn

Thanks for all the support and input, guys. As for pricing, most of my stuff is along the same lines. Figures run $175.00. There are exceptions, depending on complexity. Lurtz and Spawn are $225.00. These prices are before any Freaks discount. With the Keaton is was a $25.00 discount. I charge based on material cost and the amount of production time involved. I've seen a lot of guys charge based on the character or "brand name" if you like, and the demand they feel is there. Capitalism at its best, I suppose:eek:

I'm still waiting on the memory stick from my buddy, so I'm still lacking photos. As for Selene, I wish I had something to show but it's a project I only settled on about a week ago so I haven't made a single thing. I'm still in the research phase, pouring over photos and studying the movie.

I like the idea of a Rick Deckard, too. I just finished yet another Ford sculpt, by far my best ever. I'm dreading the idea of creating that pistol from scratch. If anyone has one from another figure I could borrow to pull a mold from, that would be a big help. Everything else will be my own creation. I may also be up for a Priss. Her costume was simple, and I've been in love with Daryl Hannah since I was 10 years old. I've always wanted an excuse to sculpt her. I nearly did an Elle Driver figure, but didn't have much interest in the other characters from 'Kill Bill'.

Also, I forgot to mention that RZ Myers mask is actually version one of two that I've done. I'll have pics posted of the other one along with the Ford head as soon as I can. And the McDowell Loomis, too. He's still bald right now:monkey3
Cheers,
Shawn

Theres too many great figures too choose from and looks like a good price.

I would really be up for a Deckard, ive had him on my want list since i started collecting.

I wouldn't mind a Keaton Batman Return either, as long as the sculpt is better than the last one. I don't mean to sound negative, but I had a lot of trouble with the last sculpt hence I didn't order him. Everything else about the figure was superb though. And a Selene would be no-brainer for me.:D

Do you mean his current 1989 Keaton Batman or an older Returns? I have a hard time imagining how much flaw one could find in this.

Well I guess Shawn's been doing Batmans for a few years now and is ever improving on them, I just got mine from him a few months ago so that's the quality you get with the 89 version and I'm sure the same would go for a Returns version made today.

I thought the returns had a different headsculpt, but maybe more simplified compared to this one. The 89' Batman is just unbelievable :rock

I'd be interested in the following:

That is one wicked setup.....that is the Legacy of Batman I had in mind...

In this shot the headsculpt of Returns batman looks very close to the Horizon Batman returns Vinyl model kit.
But then also the headsculpt of the 89' Batman in this pic looks very close to the Billiken Batman Kit headsculpt, and the now the 89' V3 Keaton batm HS looks way better. So maybe he is changing them.

The Horizon batman returns headsculpt though is not really that strong and would prefer a better version but wouldnt mind if use it for a custom.

The Returns head sculpt looks really good to me:

i wasn't too sure either until i watched returns again and the HS is actually pretty damn good. and the detail in the costume is amazing. the only thing wrong with it is the 89 emblem on the returns suit. when i emailed shawn about the 89 HS in this pic, he said he's confused why people think it's a different HS as he's using the same one now for the V3s with a few minor changes.

Everybody knows I love group buys!!
However, I'd like something that isn't already offered or isen't forthcoming.
There are Indy's and Batman a plenty. From West to Keaton to Bale to Dead End. They're all out there already. Custom Indy's seem to have been made by just about everyone by now.
And SS is bringing Indy to 1:6th as well.
The Lurtz is nice but may be coming if SS is still doing LOTR in 1:6.
I would have maybe suggested a Rod Serling to complete the TZ line, but thats a moot point now that its been done.
I'd like to see some companion pieces for the now defunct Majestic classic BSG line. Boomer and Athena were promised but never saw life. Or Baltar [Colicos version] or Count Iblis.
An Exeter to go with the Metaluna Mutant would be nice.
Maybe an Ygor or Doctor to help complete the deserted Universal Monsters line?
Just a few other, older ideas.

Yeah, a lot of people make Indy figures, but not like mine. Sorry to climb on the soap box but I have a lot of love for the character and a lot of pride in that figure in particular. I literally feel sick when I see Indy made wrong. And ALL of them out there are. Sorry for the rant:eek:

I doubt SS will ever produce a Lurtz for one reason; too much exposed body. Can you picture a Lurtz with those long, skinny limbs sticking out of the costume?:monkey1 Their 1:6 figures seem to coincide with the release of the PF version, and the PF Lurtz came out quite a while ago. Actually, I don't think they bothered doing ANY LOTR villians, did they? I could be wrong.

For those of you expressing interest in the figures I'm already making, feel free to just drop me a line if you want to order something. For the stuff already in the line-up, I don't need a group of guys signed up to offer the Freaks discount. It will be honored for individual orders, as well.

As for the next group run, how about Deckard? The more I think about that one, the more excited I am about it. As for Selene, don't worry, she's not out of the running. I was already working on her, anyway:eek: And don't worry, I don't really need 30+ guys like I have with the Keaton to get a project off the ground. About half that would do.
Cheers,
Shawn
