The 12" figure was such a home run that I honestly don't think there was much room for improvement in any area other than size.

I think it's the hasbro....From what I see the PF maul's face is too rounded like the Hasbro one. the eyes are better though.

Upon looking at it again, I notice that the bottom of his tunic is swaying back to better simulate motion...its not going to look that way coming out of the box. Which means any perfectionists are going to have a lot of fun adjusting that.
To be more on topic to the current flow of conversation (I typed the first part without realizing I didn't read the last page) I think its too early to really comment too much on the sculpt given that this is a scan from a picture in a magazine.

I got my Maul bust recently and it looks great. Freakily lifelike:
And I don't believe that GG started doing Star Wars scans on set until Episode II, so this might actually be a sculpture. But maybe I'm wrong.

For now, I'll wait until more pics are scanned or until SS post the news themselves with the actual pics.

Darth Maul is my favorite character from the prequels. And, I am not sure if I want this piece or not.
I think it's a bit soon to start saying it looks bad.
We'll see next week, at ToyFair.

Batty, I am gonna wait to see what he looks like after the show and actual photos of him on display before I say whether I like it or not.

While I'll reserve full judgement on the SS piece until the pics from Toy Fair come out, I can't disagree that GG has done the best Maul yet. Their likeness is pretty much spot-on perfect(both the bust and the statue).
