I was thinking of the robe as the exclusive, but as you said, it couldn't go on or off like with Grievous. So you would have to choose between one or the other and live with your choice, or else get both. Maul didn't fight in Theed with his robe on, so maybe the robe is out as a possibility. I'm not sure what else we might see as the exclusive...



I hope it's not 1/4 scale Sith Probe Droids when we just got the 1/6 versions. We need something cool that sets this apart from the 12" figure.

True enough, but neither did Grievous, and Obi didn't use the training remote, etc.

I still think it is something additional, though perhaps not a droid head, since we saw that with Kit.

Personally, I don't think the pose is bad, but I do think it could be better. To me, it looks like more of a defensive pose, rather than an aggressive one. His weight is on his back foot, and his front hand crosses his body. If his weight were shifted forward, and his hand was extended more in his line of vision, it would look better to me.

Of course, some of these impressions may be due to a bad photo (and not the best scan job, either), but until some better photos come along, what else can we base our opinions on?

First impression - "He looks bad, it's an easy pass."

Toy Fair pics - "He looks awesome. I just might have to get him. Wow!"

Goes up for order - "Yikes, what happened? What happened to the great paint job from Toy Fair."

Finally ships - "I glad I didn't cancel him. He looks great just like I knew he would"

I betting if it doesn't go word for word like this, it'll be awfully close.

Hey guys, thought I'd break the news.

In this months Tomart's Action Figure Digest issue number 151 there is a beautiful picture of the next SideShow Collectible's Premiere Format figure. It will be Darth Maul. On page 18 of that issue there are two pics of the Maul statue. According to AFD, they are giving us a first look and the statue will make its debut at Toy Fair. I will try to describe Maul as best I can.

It is Maul from his battle with Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan in the Theed Hanger. Maul has his double bladed lightsabe in his right hand ( both sides of the saber are ignited). Maul's body is slightly turned with his left arm coming across is body. His right hand with the saber is behind him. His face is classic "I'm a bad a**" somewhat like the Sideshow 1:1 bust of him.


Also on the same page was the chess board from A NEW HOPE which will accompany Chewie and R2. AFD didn't say if this was another PF but if it is OMG. The chess board looks great and the animal/alien chess pieces aren't holograms but painted individually.

Are you serious? Did you not notice you are the 334th post in a thread reporting the news you claim to be breaking? Way to go dude. You busted this wide open. And with your description, I didn't even need to look at the pics that were posted about 75 times in this thread before you posted.
