Look at Campbell's stats. He's a good QB that's lived in ____ty situations for 6 years dating back to college. To put up the numbers he has with 6 different coordinators in as many years is impressive, especially considering his numbers have improved with each year.

Yeah I actually feel bad for Campbell. Seems to really have been as you say stuck in ____ for a while.

For whatever reason, I've seen a number of Redskins games with Campbell, and he usually came across as a very serviceable QB--a "game manager" type. He's no Drew Brees, but he sure as ____ isn't Jamarcus Russell: one of the most horrible QBs I've seen attempt to play in a professional football game.

Yeah, I would say that Campbell is a step up. Problem is, the Raiders got Aaron Brooks from the Saints a few years ago. He wasn't great by any means. He sometimes made bad decisions, and always seemed too stoned to have that edge that makes many QBs great. But he was a good QB with the Saints who had moments where some serious talent shined through. Went to the Raiders, though, and he never had more than 3 seconds to get rid of the ball, had apathetic wide receivers, had questionable coaching and spiteful fans. Just not a situation where a guy can thrive. I'm not sure if Campbell will be able to overcome that stuff or not.

Poor Raiders. I know what it is like to root for a sucky team, but their ownership/management/coaching seem absolutely clueless. Same could be said for the Lions, I guess. Surprised they didn't go with another wide receiver with their first draft pick this year.

At least with the Lions eventually they were able to get rid of their problem, GM Matt Millen. They're already much improved.

The Raiders...? They will be nothing for as long as Al Davis is alive.

Anybody watch "Run, Ricky, Run" last night? It's one of ESPN's 30 For 30 short films. Really good documentary and introspective on Ricky Williams. He had befriended a filmmaker prior to retiring from the league, and the filmmaker had the foresight to film interviews with Ricky Williams during his retirement, suspension, and subsequent re-instatement to the NFL. It's amazing the amount of crap he took in the court of public opinion when no one knew the whole story. The film has quotes and interviews from when the whole thing went down to now. From his high horse, Joe Thiesmann went so far as to say he didn't want to associated in the same sentence as Williams (both played for the CFL's Toronto Argonauts), as well as other crap. Regardless of how you feel about Ricky Williams' multiple positive drug tests and his choice to use marijuana, this film does a great job of illustrating Ricky's mindset and the things he had to deal with that led him to the decisions he made. It's nice that he was able to overcome his demons, and I hope he plays long enough to pass Larry Csonka and become the Fins' all-time leading rusher.

I didn't see that documentary, but I never understood how people wrote the guy off just for smoking weed. Lots of NFL players have done a hell of a lot worse in their personal lives, but never seemed to be treated the way Ricky was.

Not that I have complete sympathy for the guy. To lose millions of dollars because you can't stop using drugs is idiotic. It seems really easy for some of those guys to lose perspective. He should stop moping around and get over himself.

when you balance what ricky williams left the dream for with what pat tilman left the dream for, I think it makes it a little easier to understand why people thought ricky was a piece of trash.

Without seeing the documentary, I can understand your comments. But once you watch it you'll get a different perspective on how it went down.

He basically used the MJ (which was medically prescribed to him) to battle/cope with his mental disorder.

Comparing why Tillman left the NFL and why anyone else left is a bit unfair. And that in no way means I don't respect Tillman's reasons or think any less of them.

Can someone please explain to me why people are all over this guys nuts?

Tim Tebow is already setting records. A first-round pick of the Denver Broncos, Tebow sold more jerseys during the National Football League's draft weekend than any other rookie or current player. While the league doesn't disclose sales totals, the former University of Florida quarterback logged the most jersey orders since 2006, the first year NFLShop.com joined with GSI Commerce Inc. to expand its online store. Tebow's sales totals eclipsed the previous draft-weekend record of [Mark] Sanchez, who in 2009 was the first quarterback taken by the Jets with a top-five pick since Joe Namath. "It's a pretty substantial difference between him and the next guy," NFL spokeswoman Joanna Hunter said of Tebow's jersey sales.

Absolutely agree with you. I personally don't have a problem with someone that smokes pot, but with the NFL they persecute drug use across the board regardless if its pot or cocaine. You'd think he'd manage to give up toking over millions of dollars....at least quit smoking during the season and make up for it during the off season, but then he'd probably show up for pre-season training camp 50 pounds overweight.
