Not really a fan of this video as much as a lot of people have been. Fair enough that it worked, but not sure what the point of teaching it was. Its not a football play, isn't really in the spirit of competition, isn't really atheletic, kind of humiliating. If the kid got crushed by 2 linebackers because he didn't have anyone blocking there would be hell to pay.
So yeah, not sure why its being glorified honestly.

I think I have to disagree with you. I find it to be completely within the spirit of the game...just with a sense of humor thrown in.

wouldn't have been funny if the linebackers realized it was a live play and crushed the kid. sure as sht the coach and parents would have been up in arms declaring that the boy was in a defensless position or some crap. maybe i'd feel different if it was the pros or college, but again not sure what the point in creating this play was.
we don't know for sure, but I wonder how the refs would have responded if the kid was hit during the charade or if he was stripped of the ball. guess thats my biggest problem with it, is I doubt the play would have been continued or treated equally if it went wrong.

Football is a strategic game as much as it is physical. I love this play. It reminds me of the fake kneel down in the NFL when everyone stood around and watched that. Pretty funny stuff. It's nice to see some outside the box plays. So I love it!

To me, it's the same as the hidden ball trick in baseball. If teams attempted it frequently, it would just be annoying and all novelty would be lost. But in the rare instances where it's attempted and succeeds, it's awesome.

the o-lines on NFL trick plays don't drop their guard.
like I said, if the other team had done their job, the fallout could have been very bad. as a coach you shouldn't be sketching a play where your QB walks unprotected down the middle of a defense. you can't assume that the defense is going to be asleep when the health of a player is on the line. Might as well tell your players that the defense would be confused if everyone took their helmet off for a snap or 2. Stupid.
if the play ended with the walking qb getting blownup by the free safety running full speed the outcry would be huge calling for the coach's head.

Pretty pathetic those guys had to pay a couple hundreds bones to see that since there was no game being played, especially when they could have went to the titty bar and saw more for the cover charge
