Who really knows, but neither Vick nor McNabb ever struck me as genuine leaders. Neither one seemed to really care enough about winning. Same applies to a guy like Jay Cutler or Eli Manning. It seems to me that the best leaders who who end up playing the best in big-time situations have a major aversion to losing. Brady, Manning (apart from his play in the playoffs :D ), Elway, Urlacher, Ray Lewis, Reggie White, etc.

I'm not sure if Aaron Rodgers has that personality characteristic or not, though. He might be an exception to the rule, being a really laid back, reasonably carefree guy who can still be a great leader and winner in clutch situations.

. . .just idle speculation. . .

Rodgers is a good QB, but Favre will always be the leader of GB. Rodgers is no Brady or Bree's or Peyton when he was playing as in terms of true leadership in this era of the Nfl.

And you're right about Ray Lewis being the Raven's leader, even though he's not the QB :exactly:

I dont agree with Vick not caring about winning. He fights for every yard. Puts his body at risk far to often. If he didn't care about winning he wouldn't do that.

Say what you want about Mcnabb, the guy was a leader there

No he wasn't.

If T.O. Comes back, he should go to the panthers, they need some quality receivers if Smith gets injured next season. Denver would be another choice of mine.

Who the hell would want that cancer on their team? :monkey4

The guy is good at one thing....ripping apart locker rooms.

Do you really think an NFL QB doesn't care about winning? Was this sarcasm? :duh

Pffft....Favre is yesterday's news in Green Bay.

It's relative. Of course, most players want to win. Some players can't stand losing. Others just act like they dropped their sandwich on the floor and the dog ate it--"I would've liked to eat that sandwich, but oh, well." Former Saints QB Aaron Brooks embodied that perspective.

When it comes to drafts, who can forget the Saints draft in 1999. Mike Ditka traded his entire draft for Ricky Williams.

As well as a 1st and 3rd pick the following year. :slap :thud:

What's even more mind numbing is that Washington did absolutly NOTHING with all those extra picks.

Well, through the trade they did get a borderline HOFer in Champ Bailey. Although he didn't stick around Washington too long.

They got LaVar Arrington who was pretty good until injuries ended his career.

They would have taken Bailey anyway had they kept their original pick so all that extra and all they had to show is Arrington... doesn't sound that great. They didn't pull a Cowboys thats for sure.

ESPN is now reporting that Pats OC Bill O'Brien will take the Penn State job.

The last time a coordinator took a job during the playoff bye week it worked out well. I'd like to see it happen again.

Do you know of a good site where I can see which team picked who, round per round in certain draft years? Like a draft tracker?

That was against the Vikings too. :slap

I love the playoffs but I am selfishly waiting for the draft too. :wave

That's what us losers have to look forward too. :lol

I don't even have the draft to look forward to.:gah:

Not sure if it's fair to compare Rodgers to Brady/Brees/Peyton just yet. He hasn't been "the Man" in Green Bay nearly as long as those guys have for their teams.

Oakland Raiders news

"The Oakland Raiders will hire Green Bay Packers director of football operations Reggie McKenzie as their next general manager, according to a league source."

https://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/...ers-hire-reggie-mckenzie-green-bay-packers-gm

The Raiders have only 5th and 6th round picks in the draft. :horror

And 2-3 compensatory picks in Round 3.:pfft:
