No I predicted the winner would have 9 wins, I never said Den would be that team. Plus I think there is much better chance of them going 8-8 then 10-6.

I really think the team that wins division will go 3-3. That really makes things much easier for Oak and KC to win division and even a little easier for SD.

I need to see who Carolina drafts, but I'll be shocked if they win more than 6 games.

They're definitely picking defense first round.

6 really? They were playing amazing at the latter of the season. Getting the 17 guys off IR (most of which are defense) can only point to improvement. I guess we'll see, but i'll be taking them over Denver with a not-in-his-prime Manning.

Okay, because Freeman had a Soph. slump that means Newton going to have one now?

I personally never bought into the whole sophomore slump theory but the problem is he set the bar so high that anything less than his stellar season is going to be considered a "slump" by the pundits...

I always though the slump was due to as a rookie there were lower expectations. Then you do good , now there are higher expectations on you and that can change a QBs mental approach, they end up trying harder, over thinking and regress.

hines ward retired

THAT hurts. Gonna miss him. I already was missing his presence on the field with his reduced role on the team. He is one of my all-time favorites.

It is kind of selfish, but I am glad he chose to retire a Steeler as opposed to going to another team.

He said the overwhelming fan support asking him not to play for another team helped him reach that decision. That, and the Bus called and talked to him and asked him to retire a Steeler, as well. Definitely going to miss that toughness in this age of whiney, primadonna receivers. Very few with that nowadays.

I think there is also an adjustment period that defenses have to go through when they aren't familiar with an unconventional QB. And sometimes it takes the off season for teams to really figure that out. I think that's a big part of what happened with Freeman, though I agree that he also had more pressure and probably overdid things. Having seen him play several times against the Saints, I don't think he was all that great to begin with, though. He was very good at times, but not consistently good. He was just unusual, and teams didn't quite know what to do to best stop him. Seems like they figured it out last year. Newton could be a different animal. I think that, like Vick, he's gonna be able to succeed pretty consistently doing what he does, because he's got the genuine option to both run and pass, and has an athletic instinct that few other QBs seem to have. He has shown mental weakness (he quit in the last half of the last game they played against the Saints) and periods of baffling ineptitude (the all-star game), though. So who knows?

And btw, I was just throwing out the Panthers as a random NFC South team. Bucs or Falcons could just as easily take it, but I think the Falcons have had more than their fair share of really good seasons recently (same goes for the Saints) and it just feels like it's time for one of the other teams in that division to step up. Historically, there has been no dominant team in this division for any period of time.

Tebow is officially a Jet... traded for a fourth round pick.

And the breaking news headline on NFL.com reads:

"PAYTON, WILLIAMS, LOOMIS SUSPENDED
Saints head coach Sean Payton will be suspended without pay for one season; GM Mickey Loomis suspended for first eight games; former DC Gregg Williams suspended indefinitely."

Damn, the Saints got hit HARD. As they probably should be. Head coach suspended without pay for a season is crazy.

Time for Carolina to rise up! lol.

I'm a Jet fan now...:lol

Its going to be awesome when Tebow beats out Mark Sanchez.

Saints deserved all they get.

Wow

They also said asst head coach was suspended for 6 games on espn radio. Didnt say why just was said when talking about who will be head coach.

Does Brees even sign now?
