Tyler was looking a tad sad after being picked by Boston lol!, i bet he was wishing it were the Leafs calling him up there. Duthie asked him about getting a Bruins tattoo and he replied "ahh i don't know about THAT!".

Leafs should trade Kaberle for Savard.

:rotfl Good one Valfar. The thought of a Bergeron-Recchi-Seguin line makes me wish the season started tomorrow.

Wow, though at Cam Fowler getting the Brady Quinn treatment.

I highly doubt it... Who the hell WANTS to play for the Leafs?? no one, they all want to play in California

I highly think maybe so.

He was born in Brampton Ont, thats just 15-20min drive west of Toronto and he played AAA in Whitby. I don't know which NHL team he favored growing up*edit* The Leafs!, Yzerman is his favorite player though.

Toronto is the largest hockey market in the world.

"Seguin acknowledged that his childhood loyalty was dedicated to his local team the Toronto Maple Leafs, but any blue and white flowing through his veins has turned into Black and Gold and, as he pointed out, he is happy to play with Toronto’s Original Six rival and be a Bruin."

"Growing up I was the local guy; I liked watching the Leafs because they were the local team," Seguin admitted. "Now that it happened, I think it's meant to be. I think things worked out throughout my life and anyone's lives. It's just where we were supposed to fall, and Boston was the team that was supposed to pick me."

I was hoping the pens would have drafted Tinordi if he was still available. We did fill a need at wing though. Either one works, but I like the size and strength of your newest hab.

I was out all night and am going to bed. Who did we draft?

Beau Bennett – RW – Penticton (BCHL) – 6’1 – 173lbs. – Shoots R

Marshall: He’s a complete wildcard in this race, we both have him at 25. That said, no one has scored more points as a rookie in the last seven years of BCHL hockey as Beau Bennett has. When it comes to pure offensive talent, Bennett has all the tools. He’s an excellent skater, he has a solid shot, and his vision makes him a threat distributing the puck. What makes him an attractive option to me is the fact that he played alongside another BCHL star in Denver Manderson. Bennett and Manderson put on a show, and Bennett proved that putting him with a talented center can produce lucrative results. That’s exactly the situation we have here. It might be a bit of a stretch if some more attractive options are on the table, but I’m hoping the Penguins can reach for this kid when they select their first pick this year. Bennett’s offensive upside is so high that it could be worth it. He’s headed to Denver University this fall to pursue hockey at the next level.

Farkas: A relative unknown going into the year, Bennett developed in Junior ‘A’ hockey this year. Has some interesting weaponry at his disposal. Owns quite a shot, a laser that can get to the roof in a hurry. Runs the power play from the side wall and dishes the puck quite well. Decent skater that is willing to participate defensively. Has very good hockey sense. He’s a bit of a project. He needs to hit the weight room for starters. That will help the whole size/strength thing but also will hopefully wander into high traffic areas a little more often. Might be an awkward splice, but he could be Travis Zajac meets Kris Beech.

2009/10 Statistics: 41G – 79A – 120Pts – 56GP

THN had him ranked 35th, TSN 18th, McKeens 17th in their NA skaters list

Peter Chiarelli has had a good week. Today he gets Johnny Boychuk re-signed for 2 years 3.75m.:clap

Let's see if he can keep it going tomorrow.

Yeah, it's been an exciting week for us. The trade with Florida for Horton, Boychuk resigned, Recchi's coming back next year, the Seguin pick, and still two early picks to go in round 2 today.

The hope is that it does do something positive for the team.
Sadly, Bruins player morale is at an all time low.

Crosby has a new Beau!

Jokes aside, I like the sounds of this kid and finally nice to see we're drafting through necessity. Not to say Despres wasn't a very good pick last year, but we have needed strength along the wings for a long time. So call me impressed. Lets hope that this high risk very high reward player ends up becoming the player that can compliment one of our stud centermen.

Stud centerman? Danny Devito is more of a stud than Malkin.
Yeesh. Talk about a face that only a mother could love.
