I am hoping the Leafs trade for Spezza over Savard, though i doubt Kaberle would want to head over to Ottawa and rather play with Zdeno in Boston.

Kaberle is a bit of a *******, July first Toronto could ship him to Nashville

Are there talks in To about trading for Savard of Spezza? Thats the first Ive heard

I hardly think Nashville is on Kaberle's radar, and he has some say on where he will be headed, much like Savard specifically stating that he would only like a trade to Toronto or Ottawa.

I just hope we get Spezza because he is younger and IMO more skilled and not injury prone, its worth the few extra mil to pick him up.

Not as of July 1st, Kaberles no trade is voided as of that date, so I would think he would ok a trade somewhere on the hockey world map

I couldn't see why the Bruins would trade with Toronto, unless they for some reason wanted to devalue the 2011 first rounder from the Kessel deal.

If anything it seems like the Toronto media are getting their wheels spun by Brian Burke.

I must admit, I just love the hole Burke has dug for the Leafs.
They may not make the playoffs for another 5 years.

Why would he only want those teams?
Is his family in Ottawa?

I was born in the dirty Shwa(Oshawa). I should really get out to more Generals games next year, usually way more exciting games to watch live over any NHL one i have been to, especially when they play the Peterborough Pete's, loads of brawls.

Any guesses as to who will land Kovalchuk and for how much?
I wonder if the Avs will make a pitch. Avs fans seem to have dropped off the map.

I bet he ends up in the KHL.

I'd say the Avs were the team most hurt by the salary cap. They just haven't found a way to put things completely together in the "new NHL". Although they do seem to moving toward an upswing these days.

Bye bye Gonch :(
But the Pens picked up Michalek and apparently getting Paul Martin also, definate upgrade

Maple Leafs blew 3 mill on Armstrong and his 15 goals...

Not exactly the most thrilling day of signings and trades.
In my mind, the biggest losers are the Flames. They resigned two clunkers.

Not thrilling is an understatement. The B's signed Jeremy Reich to a one year deal. Yay. It's just too bad Claude still can't scratch Kessel to play Reich in a playoff game again.:yuck

I think I'm also coming to terms with Tim Thomas being the designated bench door opener for the next 3 years.

Oh well, Bruins Classics is on Caps-B's from '94, Neely's 50th goal game. Good times.

I think Tim Thomas still has more than a few games left in the tank. He's not that bad...
Are all Bruins fans that unhappy with him. He could always bounce back and give a decent season.

Also, I'm getting the sense that the GMs around the league are letting Kovalchuk know exactly what they think of him. While he may be a 40 goal scorer, he's doesn't appeared to be viewed as an impact player. You'd see a far more different reaction had this been Crosby or Ovechkin. Thing is, Kovalchuk views himself as on par as these guys and wants their payday. This guys is in deluded "Everyone thinks I'm amazing" land.
