They hung tough with a great team today, but a loss is a loss. There no more moral victories at this point in the year.

I just have a sick feeling about that hit on Savard. How do they not even call a penalty on that?

I don't think the ref's had a good view of the play to be honest. It was a reckless place, but I don't think he the intent to injure was there. It was definitely no worse than the Richards on Booth hit. Since it is Cooke though I see a 2-3 game suspension coming his way. He kept the elbow tucked, but got him clean with the shoulder. Hope he's ok as well, I've always liked Savard.

Agreed, but even though he kept the elbow tucked, he went right for his head. Think cuz its Cooke he gets 5 games. Is Guerin hurt?

Guerin I believe is suffering from what was termed back spasms.

5 games at most is what I'd guess. That would keep him out of the rematch at the Garden coming up.

I'm not saying this just because I'm a Bruins fan, but the NHL should think about being much more severe when it comes to situations like this. Hit to the head like that have no place in the game, but I suppose it will take someone doing this to Crosby or Ovechkin before they get serious about it.

Fixed that for the only name that matters to the NHL front office.

No suspension!? Colin Campbell is a moron who should have been fired a long time ago.

Dirty hit by a dirty player with a history of them. Shoulder or elbow, we all know what he was doing.

Agreed. His (poor) excuse was consistency. Since he decided not to suspend Richards for the same hit, he didn't suspend Cooke. I'm a pens fan I would say he should have been suspended for 3 - 5 games. Hopefully a new rule will come during the offseason to help protect people since he doesn't want to. I could do that guys job and do it much better

No question Cooke should've been suspended for that dirty hit. I'm disappointed that the league didn't do anything to penalize that thug. What happens when he pulls this same crap with another team? Is Cooke going to appeal his suspension using this non ruling as an example. I'm sorry. There is no excuse why Cooke shouldn't have been penalized in this case. If it was Ovechkin or Crosby that was the victim of the same hit, I'm willing to bet you'd see a different result from the commissioners office. Savard & the Bruins deserved better.

I'm not surprised Cooke was left off. He's a Pen and they get special treatment. Ovechkin has been suspended. Green was suspended. Others around the NHL have been as well, but a Pen? Don't think so.

Your posts are getting very redundant and old. :monkey4:monkey4

Yes, the pens have knocked the caps out of the playoffs many times and have won 3 cups now. Sad, but there are other teams that have not won the cup either. I think its time to move on and get over it. Ya never know it could be your year! :monkey1

The difference is in the hit itself. Not saying its right, but it was almost the same as richards hit on booth except richards extended his elbow a bit. Cooke at least left his tucked. Regardless, they both ended up with a player getting KTFO. Also, Cooke was suspended at least once if not twice earlier in the year so your ASSumption of it having to do with the jersey was just proved false.

Your boy Ovechkin likes going after knee's. That is a hit that is penalized and one that you can be suspended for. HE is a repeat offender for the same type of hit. Green's retaliatory elbow was just as cheap and was worthy of his suspension.

Cooke and Richards both should have been suspended for their cheap shot hits. Until Campbell is out these will probably keep coming up.

My post has zero to do with Caps/Pens and everything to do with the obvious special treatment the Pittsburgh Corsbys get.

Ovechkin gets suspended for what he did so how can you compare since of course the Crosbys player gets away with it. Same with Green and he's not even a repeat offender like Cooke.

I brought up 2 Caps because it's an examle of players being suspended when they should have been, but of course your boy who plays for the Crosbys gets away with nohing.....shocking. It's ridiculous.
