It was a dirty hit. However you see that ____ a lot and people don't get suspended. I'm surprised the NHL suspended one of their "Golden Boys".

It really is not much of a joke since it puts the idea to rest that the league lets star players off the hook easier then other lesser known players.
OV has been known to be cheap shot artist at times so, he got what he deserved, Matt Cooke did not..oh well, things will change though in short time.

The NHL will suspend Ovechkin for anything at this point. Gotta make sure Crosby wins with Richard this year.
It's just laughable that Ovechkin will be suspended yet again, while Richards and Cooke walk scott free.

Ovi has deserved alot more than he got several times, you cant play with wreckless abandon like he does. Of all these hits I think Richards was the cleanest.

Also, I never said Ovechkin didn't deserve the 2 games he got. I just think it's a complete joke that he gets 2 games ( again ) and Cooke and Richards walk away. IMO that makes this league a joke.

I'm not the biggest Crosby fan, but he is my favorite of the two stars that shine in the NHL. He is a hero to a lot of people especially for that game winning goal in the Olympics which was quite a triumph, but that hit that he got the other day was just downright bull. I heard about it but last night was the first time I actually saw it. I cringed when I watched it because his body questioned the basic human anatomy. I truly felt for him and that was good to see him get up. He is still my babyface Crosby.
