I'm not surprised Cooke was left off. He's a Pen and they get special treatment. Ovechkin has been suspended. Green was suspended. Others around the NHL have been as well, but a Pen? Don't think so.

Seriously, stop your crying. Richards wasnt suspended either. We all agree he should have been given something, but as the rules stand now ITS NOT A SUSPENDABLE OFFENCE.

How can you even make this Crosby /Pens issue, it has zero to do with that.

It's just convenient that he was a part of this game and it illustrates the double standard that exists with the Golden Boy.

If it had been Milan Lucic or Shawn Thornton hitting Crosby the league would have had a rule in place within hours, and a severe penalty for the perpetrator.

I don't hold it against them since he's the face of the league, but there is favoritism heaved his way.

and as I also stated Cooke was already suspended twice this season so your theory is wrong.

I will also say again that hits to the head IE richards & cooke, as of now are technically legal checks. Albeit dirty checks, but legal. Ovechkin multiple knees are hits that you can get penalized and or suspended for. Same as elbows (Green) if intent is shown. Since Green was rocked during the same shift it was obvious he was head hunting.

I'm sorry, but I'm obviously missing the point of your statement there. Your stating that its convenient that Crosby was playing for the Penguins game while a dirty hit occurred??

I understand you being peev'd about your boy getting knocked out. I stated it was dirty myself, but saying this has anything to do with Crosby or the NHL's so called love for him is seriously retarded.

I'm just talking about his proximity to the event. It doesn't have anything to do with him explicitly, but can you deny that further action would have been taken if it were him on the other end of this scenario?

As far as hits to the head in general, the IIHF has it right.

But you could argue you that had it happened to any of the games stars maybe aside from Ovi, since you reap what you sow with him. But the none suspension has NOTHING to do with the PENS or Crosby.

had he been suspended the NHLPA would have appealed and won, by the rules he did nothing wrong. This is what the league now has to fix, and should have fixed before Lindros got creamed by Stevens.

Completely agree. I just don't understand how the NHL has ignored this issue for 8 eight years while the IIHF has had something in place.

Concussions in general should have been taken much for seriously by the NHL when guys like LaFontaine, Lindros and his brother were dropping like flies with them.

With the Bruins it just hit close to home with the number of issues Patrice Bergeron has had and now Savard. It just puts the cherry on a frustrating season for the franchise.

Matt Cooke couldn't be suspended because he caused a legal hit.

Definition of the word Legal:

Meeting the requirements under a law.

If others haven't been suspended for similar hits, why should he? And yes he has been suspended and seriously shut the hell up about the Crosby situation. His name shouldn't even be uttered in the same words concerning this topic. You sorry bunch of girls. Find a new argument, instead of the old tired "the NHL bends over Crosby." It's facking old, boring, and predictable. Keep it on topic. What Cooke did was dirty, yes, but legal. Make that kind of hit illegal and then the NHL can suspend him. It would go against the NHL's rules it has structured that penalizes a player who has by their standards, made a legal hit on another player. Do I like Cooke? No, but he's great for the team.

What surprises me more is how ridiculously ignorant the Bruins were for not reacting to the hit, instead of taking it like a bunch of ____ing brain-dead pylons. See, I can rip other's teams apart as well. And seriously Fitso, step the ____ off!

End of rant. I actually like you both, but the whole Crosby and Bettman love angle you guys play is so tired and old. Lets find something new to complain about.

Supposedly Ryder was the only one that saw it and he did nothing. Par for the course with him. He's truly earned his nickname of Ghost Ryder. As for the next game retribution at this point would be petty. Just play the game for the two points.

As for Sid, it's just a tinge of jealousy. He's the best in the league and easy to pile on. I get the same thing being a Pats fan with how people go after Brady.

To be fair to the bruins though, they are fighting for their playoff lives. They were down by 1 with a bit over 5 minutes to play. If they did something stupid to cause i penalty they more than likely would have lost for sure. Granted they did anyway, but in my opinion at that point in the game they did the smart thing.

I think the next game will get a bit choppy to say the least.

Well, I hope someone on the Bruins goes after Cooke right away, get it out of the way, no need for them to run anyone else. Hope whatever happens Cooke answers the bell, and doesnt turtle.

Ghost Ryder to funny :lol

B's 5-1 win. Good game from the B's. Good to see a complete game from them rather than the let the other team back in way they had been going with.

Props to Dan Carcillo for possibly the dive of the year.

Montreal next. Now do I want to take the 6 hour road trip for this one?:dunno

Should be a good game man, just a warning MTL fans get extra ancy this time of year, especially since the Habs are on a winning streak :D

What are ticket prices like in Boston?

I know, my friend got a Molson shower after a game a few years ago.:lol I'm not as vocal in these types of situations. Besides I could trade good natured barbs with people in French, he's only anglophone.

Prices for good seats usually run somewhere in the neighborhood of $125-$200. My season tix that I had last year were in the upper part of the arena and were roughly $45 a game.

One of the places I invest with gave me tickets to next Sunday's game against the Rangers in the very exclusive Heineken Boardroom.:banana

The last time in there Ray Bourque was in there, but I didn't want to pester him and seem like a total fanboy.:lol

Dirty hit, should be suspended about 4. Better check Colin Campbell's chart for this sort of thing first though.

So most likely nothing, but it would give him a nice vacation. It would also allow Crosby to pull away in the race for the Richard, and catch up for the Art Ross.
