I'm always happy when the Caps beat the Pens, but as a Caps fan I can honestly say it's cup or bust for me. The regular season is just that.....regular. I want a cup and if this team does not win one then it's not a successful season.

He has improved his game vastly.... look at him on faceoffs now, defensively, even his goal scoring and now look at his linemates... he's being held down by dead weight yet he still puts up amazing numbers.

Sid would probably be around a +44 too if he was in the same conference as the thrashers, panthers, hurricanes ect... I've never said Ovi isn't a great player, but he's playing in a weak conference and has inflated numbers because of it.

That will be the big deciding factor for them. I just couldn't trust Théodore based on his past though. In general I like Varlamov more even though he doesn't have enough PO experience as the TV pundits like to harp about. He had a good run in last year's PO too.

MAF didn't have it and he's led the Pens to two straight finals. Either way the Caps have so much offensive firepower it should offset suspect goaltending.

No, I never said Crosby did you idiot. I know more about the game than anyone here, so don't even assume I meant Crosby. Henrik Sedin... ____ douche, maybe you should not assume and look who's in the scoring lead and before you just look at numbers, look at the talent around Crosby now look at the talent around Ovechkin. If you know anything, your linemates and team contribute a lot to that factor. Even when OV was out of the lineup his team went on winning every single game and scoring an average of 6 goals a game. So no OV = 6-0-0 record and a GF of 36. That is a contender team even without Alex. That's the skill of that team!

+/- isn't always telling of a player's game. In many cases, yes, but more-so a +/- is attributed to more of a team game vs. the individual's. Yes it's a little of column a (team) and column (b) the individual, but it's more or so to do with the team. Place OVY on Edmonton and while he may have the best +/- on that team he surely wouldn't be a +44. Put Crosby on a talented laden team like the Caps and his +/- and numbers would increase. The Caps have more talent and skill, so much so that they aren't only dominating the NHL, but their affiliates are dominating the AHL and ECHL. This is due to some excellent scouting and management. You Caps fans never had it this good.

Same goes for Mario's +55 in 92/93 in 60 games, so not playing favorites here.

And before anyone believes I am being a homer, here is the other thing, I have the Caps going to the Finals. I am a realist... this team is unstoppable. Only their goaltending is a question mark, but if Osgood can get Detroit there and Fleury for the Pens, well then I believe your goalies should hold up well.

Not just that, I know the politics of the game, I know how the game works... I am a long time season ticket holder, played the sport, collect the sport, heck, I breathe the sport. So I don't need anyone putting me down. I only got on my high horse because others decided to make this personal. I am not a happy camper of late, so yeah, not much will set me off.

Just encountered the ex, returned some of her stuff and she was a handful to deal with. I also have other factors putting me on the edge, so if you want to discuss the game on a more mature level, I am game. I like bumblebee, but his last comment really pissed me off. Maybe that's more my fault and problem.

Further expanding on the +/- discussion... Ovechkin's team not only play in a weaker Division (is what you meant to say), OVY has more talent around him than Crosby. Malkin and Crosby only play on the PP. But lets not take that away from the guy's (Alex's) season, he still is putting up amazing numbers and he would be prorated to score 120 points. We need to look beyond the stats and see the other intangibles that lye beneath, and attribute to these factors. That's what separates the kids who look up stats and those who get the game. These guys are the best of the best, but they can be made better by a stronger environment.

Rob Blake won the Norris on a -3 season, so I don't even think the NHL holds to that being the end-all to a player's value. +/- is definitely more of a team thing.
