Posted this in the MLB thread and edited it for this one.

I always hate the statistic whores. Stats mean nothing. Are all of the dead Pens players going to come back to life and somehow will this years team a Stanley Cup victory?

The point is, is that it doesn't matter what happened in the past. As far as I know the past isn't helping them TODAY! Thank you! Drive through! :yess:

The Habs are my team, baby. Through thick and thin.
I may kick and scream at times, but there's no team I'd want to win the cup more.

The people who generally appear to hate stats are generally the people who back teams with barely any stats at all to be proud of... lol. And, just for the sake of argument, the core of the Pens team who won the cup are still around. They're not dead. If the Pens season started 0-10 and the Flyers season started 10-0, I'd still pick the Pens over the Flyers.

You can talk all the stats you want madam. Just ask Capitals fans how awesome their stats were in the regular season. How well did that work out?

Apparently you didn't watch last season. Hmmmm lets see:

New coach mid season

Multiple Goalies got injured (this would bury most teams)

More injuries

Came back from an 0 - 3 start in the playoffs agains the Bruins to win

And they made it to the Cup

So I ask YOU madam. How did they choke?

And for RisingFAIL. I forgot to add overcame the Habs weak ass attempt at sabotage to beat them on their home turf. I'm refering to the path of sand that they laid down on the mats leading into the ice from the Flyers dressing room. :lecture

Bah. Regular season stats mean zip. The Flyers proved that a million times.

One game into the season and already the trash talk begins. I love it.
Only in the NHL.

:D

P.S. The Flyers beating a clearly fatigued Habs club who just beat The President's cup trophy winners and the previous year's stanley cup champions is nothing to pat your back over. At the end of the season, what was the greater accomplishment in the eyes of fans who truly understand the sport of hockey?

Beating the Bruins is behind this latest chest pounding for the Flyers? The Bruins were practically a little league team last year.
