and with that the Coyotes are in. Tippet should get coach of the year again. After losing Bryz we still broke the 90 point mark. I wonder whats going to happen when we get an owner and move up north.

thank god for the play of Mike Smith

many will disagree but I think Dineen gets coach of the year

Just when the Caps get sort of healthy they lose another goalie and might have to go with Holtby in the playoffs.......all I can do is laugh

Enjoy watching other teams play in the playoffs Leaf fan. :lol

Like Ottawa,Nashville,Philly and St.Louis?..sure will. :)

Leafs on the positive side(Kessel,Lupul,Gardiner,Kadri,Gunarsson and Grabo) were much more exciting to watch most of the season then the Crapitals.

Yeah, missing the playoffs is FAR more "exciting". Of course leafs fans are used to it.

Admit your team was ____ most of the year, yup they were... and they're not going to last one round.

Leafs played more exciting hockey, finished bad.

I'm first and foremost a Hockey fan, i played it on ice since i was a kid up until my teens. XD

Yea I was just looking at the stats, I was shocked that Kovy was having such a great season. Good for him! But yea, I can see Brodeur throwing in the towel very soon, same with guys like Nik Lidstrom and maybe even Jarome Iginla.

Yeah, I'd rather see Marty go out on a semi-good season than wait to see him with barely 20 wins and end it.

The irony right, cuz it seems to be Torts crying every nighy about something to the media.

The hit wasnt clean, but Orpik didnt lunge out at Stepan.

Torts should have been crying at his team for being complete no shows last night, I hope they bounced in the first round

I wouldn't expect you or Eli to have a nice response to this. :lol Truthfully, I agree 100% about playing the Pens. The rules are always different for them.

How do you think Parise would feel being offered a contract worth half that of Kovy when they arguably get comparable numbers. In fact, a couple of seasons ago, Parise was getting better numbers than Kovy. As much as I might like Kovy, he received an insane contract.

I honestly think how well the Devils fair in the playoffs will determine whether or not Parise stays. Who knows, maybe Parise doesn't want a lengthy contract for 10 years with the Devils or any other organization.
And hell yes, Kovy's contract is insane but I am happy to have him on the team. As horrible as he played last season, the dude still put up 31 goals last year to finish the year.

I'm actually really surprised the Devils made it in this year... Do you think this is Brodeur's last season though?

Jamie - Brodeur said this is not his last. People should follow, the thing they say, ummm, they're fans of? Also, the interweb search engine is your best friend! I hear google is a good search engine. I dunno... Anyway it's been publicly stated that he wishes to play one more season after this. It's not like we're talking about the amazing Corey Schwab here. This is, Martin "Freaking Legend" Brodeur here!

Valfar - I played hockey on a team as well during my teenage years, and this should add what kind of substance to discussions of hockey in this thread, how? Get over it! We know you played hockey Mr. Redundancy! Music listeners, say hello to broken record player! Doesn't make you any more of a fan for playing the sport. Using that as an argument or reason for why the Leafs are more excited has no correlation or connection to the discussion. Also, it makes you come off like an off-the-topic, and as Bugs Bunny would often say, "what a maroon."

Dark Passenger - I don't know where Torts gets off calling our "two eff'ing star players" whiners, when he is one of the biggest whiners in hockey. Haven't seen a coach _____ as much as Torts, so don't even go there. Milbury and Torts would make great nipple sucking buddies. And as for Malkin, yeah, we hear how he whines all the time? Note: Sarcasm. Seriously people, stop reaching. Valfar with the fact he has to remind us he played hockey, cause none of us here have. I also played with buddies who made it far... big flippin' deal! I have cousins who played hockey and don't even follow or care for the sport. Point being?

For the rest of the Peanut Gallery - And the ____ you kids have with the hate on the Pens because of the number of Pens fans that show up in this thread.... ridiculous! We get it! You don't like those pesky birds! You don't always hear me knocking your Torontos, Philadelphias, and Bostons for the same idea, on a weekly basis. I mean, sure it's fun and all from time to time. After all, it's a two-way street! But c'mon, the rate you guys are going at, we should rename this thread, "I HATE CROSBY AND THE PENS! BWAHAHAHAHAHA! because I have to jump on that bandwagon! Bwahahahaha!!!!" Seriously, this thread sucks sometimes. Sucks harder than a Flowbee®!

Like Prax said its just sour grapes.

They dont get the phantom calls everyone is talking about. Fact is they have skilled players and skilled players get the calls, other teams fans can cry all they want, but this is fact.

I wasnt defending Matt Cooke, he got what he deserved, so no homerism here

Local sports (us Canucks know it) TSN, ran top ten sound bites of the year, the year only, and guess who showed up in three of them?? Thats rigth media hog John Torteralla, if hes not busy crying about the Pens, hes busy bashing officiating at he WC or how Deboer played his goons or taking shots at joe Thorton.

Will someone finally tell this clown to shut the ____ up

I love how Pittsburgh Penguin fans are often considered homers, when it's been well documented by a few of us, that is bullsheeeeeit! We have no problem letting others know when a player of ours has done something wrong. Take your Matt Cooke for example. So many Pens fan dislike the guy. Well, it's a love/hate relationship. I like that he's taken less dumb penalties this season compared to years past, and playing a more disciplined game. Also like the fact he has fixated into our scoring of late, which is a nice bonus. But yes, when he is up to his usual stupid bass antics, we have no problem calling him out on it. I could take or leave the guy. Take him, because I rather have him play for us than against us, and leave him, because he's a lil' ____! Ha!

For understanding the game from a hands on/technical POV , sure does.I didn't play AAA but, it helped..its experience and it did enhance my interest and understanding for OHL/AHL/NHL hockey during those years and onward.

What i mean't really though with my reply to bum is that Toronto was never just "my team" and now i'm forced to watch another or some ____?..thats a stupid way of thinking, hence i state that i'm not some casual fan of one team maybe like he is. XD

Find anywhere in this thread where I said the Caps were awesome this year. I've said they sucked and been a huge disappointment so throwing the Caps performance at me holds no weight because I've been honest.

As to the Laughs, they missed the playoffs again.....again....again and again. I'm glad you find that exciting.

Again, you type of fans don't get it...was OV exciting to watch this year?, he won't be in the one round you get sweeped as well.

We had some great playoff series in Toronto, i'd say more memorable then Washington's path though your team has made the playoffs and went deeper..you got 0 cups in the history of your not too young franchise, i bet thats got to suck. XD

No, you don't get it. I don't care if ONE player is exciting to watch or not. Was NJ "exciting" when they were winning cups? No.

You keep going after the Caps as if I'm somehow calling them the 80's Oilers. I'm not. I admit when they suck.

When is the last time the laughs even made the playoffs? When is the last time laughs fans anything to even attempt to get excited about? The NHL regular season is nothing to most except the path to the REAL season........which the laughs haven't played in for how many years?

Yeah, but Florida got in by loser points... and just got in. I hate the format.

They would've been in whether they placed first or not though..He still took a cellar dweller to the playoffs. They will be the team with the worst differential to make the playoffs though so I am not labeling them a powerhouse by any means.

I didn't have them making the playoffs as Prax (who's my guy and usually on my side, exposed!!!), so on that note, I can't really argue Dineen winning the Jack Adams.
