Imagine if the Flyers actually showed up during the first periods of play in these playoffs...
Do the Pens actually have anything left in the tank after 20 minutes?
They appear absolutely stunned out there. You can see their confidence dwindle every time the Flyers scored.

So on that Cryer's PP, when Adams dropped his stick on the face-off, why did the official pick his unbroken stick up, carry out of the Pens zone and across neutral ice, back to the Pens bench, all while play was going on, leaving the man with out a stick? That's almost as bad as that blatant off sides they let go the other night. Did these officials take those odds and bet against Pittsburgh?

Fleury is either like a brick wall, or a sheet of wet toilet paper. Granted, the D in around their net has been atrocious, but there are still some pucks that should never have gotten by him. It looks like he's letting the Filthydelphia Cryers get in his head. If he plays like that again Sunday, I'd say put Johnson in.

But everything aside, what the hell mojo did the Flyers get when the Consol Energy Center was built? Aside from that meaningless last game of the regular season last weekend, they have yet to lose a game, with meaning, in that building.

What a game tonight! Seems like Crosby just gave up after the first period, I didn't even hear his name once after that. Well deserved win by Phili, can't wait for Game 3

I said it earlier in this thread: The Pens will never win another cup as long as they have Fleury in net. 8 ____in' goals. These are the playoffs. You don't give up 8 ____ing goals in the playoffs.

Agree, the D was just as atrocious, but a 5.5 million dollar goalie needs to save some of those, there is no excuse. He has let in 5+ goals in 6 playoff games in his career. Again I said it early, we needed to beat the Isles in those back to back to avoid the Flyers, and Fleury played like ____ those games where the Pens scored at least 3 and we lost both.

Look at Jonathan quick last night, kept his team in it

Bryz was just as bad, but made saves when they counted, FLower is letting wrist shots under his arm, just terrible

Please keep this series going as long as possible. I don't want to play either of you in the second round. I'd prefer you get knocked around heavily in the first two rounds. My team can and will take care of the Rangers, if we get to round two.

In all seriousness, I have loved this Devils team since Zajac came back. While our defense has been a bit suspect as of recent weeks, our forwards lineup is as balanced as any in the NHL - and Deboer is a great coach. I can see us actually making a run in the playoffs for the first time in years, if Marty doesn't die of old age.

Wish we would have unloaded Parise for someone like J. Quick or Corey Schneider. I know, I know, blasphemy, but we're not going to get a damn thing for him when he leaves this summer.

But I don't see Parise sticking around after this season, and to be honest, as solid a player as he is, he isn't some dynamic playmaker who can take over a game like Crosby, Ovechkin, Kovalchuk, etc. He's a fundamentally sound rock who will give you a solid 65-80 points every year, and he's an emotional leader, but he's replaceable. (IE, Zajac on the top line with Kovi and some random guy on the wing wouldn't see that much of a production drop).
