Got us a series going on here out East! I don't care who wins it at this point, but dammit I find myself rooting for those Devils.

YES! WE BEAT THE RANGERS RINGER! WE BEAT THE RANGERS!!!

Woohoo!!! We're the best!!!

I thought you played for the Penguins ...................... and Jets?

:D

So where do you think Jordan Staal is going? Last time I drove into Pittsburgh I was listening to the X's morning talk show and that was their biggest topic. They were saying Edmonton was very interested in trading their #1 overall draft pick for him, but Jordan wanted to be traded to Carolina to play with his brother. I dunno? :dunno

Why would Edmonton trade their first overall pick for Jordan Staal when they need a defenseman and Yakupov could potentially be a superior talent? Also, what could Carolina give us? I do like Brian Dumoulin. *drools*

I am rooting for the Devils for one reason, okay two.

My nickname: Eli26 = Patrik Elias #26, and the fact I owned Martin Brodeur for 10 years in my fantasy keeper league. I have followed no players' career as closely for a span of 10 years as I have that man's, so by that very default I became a fan. And how can you not? He's the most durable, complete goalie to ever play the game. He owns an abundance of personal accolades and awards. Not to mention all the major records he owns. Most games played by an NHL goalie, and of course even bigger, wins, and shutouts by a goalie in their career.

Fantastic control and stick handling with the puck. Great competitor! Love the legacy that is Martin Brodeur. I also loathe the Rags coach, so it would be nice to see Marty go out on top, if this is his last season and for New York to lose.

Great win by the Devils. I've been rooting for the Devils since 1987, damn thats a long time! I've seen the up and the downs. I would love to see the Devils take the next two at home and see The Rangers sweat a little.

Like I said, that was their biggest topic of discussion on their morning program. I don't follow the NHL near as close as I follow the NFL, so I don't know NHL teams' needs as well as as I do in the NFL.

It was an interesting discussion. They basically were saying that with the cap restrictions that Pittsburgh couldn't afford to keep their top 3 forwards, so in lieu of parting ways with Sid or Geno, it was time to bid farewell to Jordan. And of course they were saying the word around town was that Edmonton was willing to give their #1 pick for him, but Jordan wanted to play with Eric, and Carolina was very interested in that transaction.

Here's a little bit about it;

Yes, definitely have to like Brodeur! The teams I despise are out, so I don't care really what one of these 4 left will hoist the Cup, but I am finding myself drawn towards the Devils right now. But, LA is looking too damn tough right now! Quick, so far, has been for them what Tim Thomas was for Boston during last year's post season.

Ya know, the softer Adolf Goodell makes the NFL every year, the more I'm becoming a fan of hockey. I mean I really enjoyed that game 2 between LA and Phx! And NJ and NY are getting nastier every game, too. The NFL is becoming more about holding good defenses back so the poster boys can throw 5 TDs a freaking game, so they can draw in more band-wagon jumper fans!!! I'm a fan of hard-nose, smash-mouth competition! I always loved the low scoring, down to the wire grinders, but those are disappearing. :(

They could give us a goaltender. Cuz we don't have one.

You little ____! :pfft:

Washington has nothing for us. D, nope. We have Joe Morrow and Simon Despres in the ranks coming up. Centermen? That is our problem, our strength is down the middle. We move a solid two-way goal scoring centerman in Jordan Staal for a lesser centerman? Or take on some ridiculous contract on from an established 1st line centerman that is no where near the level of skill and talent of a Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin, thus making that move moot.

Then there is wingers. No offence, but the only two wingers that are close to Staal's value is an overpaid lazy one dimensional Russian in Alexander Semin, who hasn't done anything for the past two seasons worth noting. With the slight exception that he Congo drummed Marc Staal into the next Century. That was hilarious! Still, he's a free agent now, and I would hate to see what his agent wants. So no thanks. That, and at this point Semin has very little value and I could see him being KHL bound if he doesn't get a dollar amount to his liking.

Washington will not trade us Alexander Ovechkin, as he is their captain and franchise player. And he would put a stranglehold on our cap. He's not needed for the contract that comes along with him.

And no way Ray Shero trades Jordan Staal for a goalie. We need wingers, and maybe another stud defenseman. My final sentiments on this? Washington and Pittsburgh do not make good trading partners.

Eli has your sidekick instead of the trout I would recommend a 100lb catfish.

Good... in fact... *sicks a Piranha on the Craw's nuts. Chomp chomp.*

*When the Craw is squirming in pain on the ground, that's when Eli and the Ringer beat the ____ out of him with a 100 lb catfish*
