Well, I'd say they did quite well tonight. It was nice to see them finally play a complete game with Rask in net.

yes a great complete game by the team. I was a little worried there in the first with the poor play by Lucic and Boychuk costing us two goals but the offense really poured it on again.

They mentioned last night during the Bruins broadcast that Edmonton is the 5th youngest team in the NHL with Eberle, Nugent-Hopkins, and Hall. I can't think of another team with a core of youngsters like that, any guesses??

well if you take Savard for example, his head injury was IMO far worse than Crosbys and he took a hit far less severe than the concussion causing hitafter coming back and is done for his career (he might still think he will play again but lets be honest it's not going to happen). Yes Crosby is younger and with less "time" in the league he may be a bit fresher in the head than Savard (saying that Savard has taken more hits over a career and could have a softer melon because of it) but I think with the severity of his concussion if he takes another rattling hit he's going to be out again.

Gotta love the optimism in this thread concerning Sidney Crosby, and how likely he'll get a concussion again. :monkey4 It's like you guys want it to happen. That makes me sick. Fan or no fan, I would not want that on any player. No matter how much I disliked them. I too have my doubts, but I am not saying it's going to happen again. I would like to think he can still have a career from this point onward.

Look at Patrice Bergeron. Prime example of a player who's been able to remain relatively healthy years later, after many felt his career was over. Even Eric Lindros, (the most famous hockey player of the injury), played many years after that first initial hit from Scott Stevens. That hit was the one that changed No. 88 from being a dominate all-around physical specimen, that would score his points in high traffic/dirty areas, 10 feet from the net. Eric would hit and destroy anything that came near him. After the hit, he reduced his game to the perimeter, keeping himself from those high traffic areas, and was a bit hesitant of being that fearless warrior that stroke fear into opposing team's players. Lindros' physical game suffered as a result from that fear. He was a neutered player. A shell of his former dominate self. The latter of the two players is not as good of an example, but he did have some productive seasons, and while he suffered lingering symptoms, he did make a career of it. I simply think it wasn't just the injury itself that effected his game from the original injury, but it was more-so a psychological deterioration (fear) that ended his career.

i 'm not worried. even if Crosby plays at 50% for the rest of his career he'll still be better than every other player in the league. he's that good. haters can keep on hating. it's never gonna change.

I edited my post, because it was a bloody mess. Go back and check for me, Crawy!

Anyway, a 50 percent Sidney Crosby is not better than the best players in the league, but still makes him an above average NHLer. And it's still a slight to the man and the game if he becomes that player. We all have been spoiled by 100 percent Crosby, so getting any less of that, would be a bad thing for the game. I get what you're saying though, even guys who have suffered near career ending injuries come back less effective. That, history does tell us. I hope in No. 87's case, that does not happen because it would hurt the marketability and branding of him personally, his team, and the sport.

I'm not hoping for Crosby to get a concussion (although I am admittedly not a huge fan) I was just stating that with a concussion that benched him for as long as it has then it is more likely that another good solid hit will not be a quick bounce back thing

This can be said for any player, with previous concussion(s) or not.

Its way way too early to hit the panic button on Crosby's career.

I dont know, im hitting the panic button simply for teh fact that he has been out this long. had it been shorter I wouldnt be to concerned. I dotn think he lasts the season, to big a target on his back now

It's really scary when a player comes back from concussion that as serious as Crosby's.

Marc Savard seemed to be healthy when he came back last December, but all it took was a quick bang-bang play a month later in a corner for his career to come to a probable end.

just hope that he doesn't end up a babbling idiot after a handful of concussions like Lindros
