The NHL still has more class than the other leagues. Hired convicts in the NFL and the tacky crap NBA players used to wear, the bling bling, fur coats, and/or leather jackets, over sized shirts, and pants that hung down to their ankles. Players always come with a suit and tie to games, and this starts as early as peewee/junior.

The hit was a bit classless by the code of hockey but Miller did come out to the play the same puck Lucic was playing. Nobody ever complained back in the 80s and 90s when a goalie would come out of the crease and get flipped on his head or low bridged or whatever (go watch a few Don Cherry videos and see how many goalies took a beating leaving the crease back then). Lucic got the penalty he deserved (in today's hockey). Penalty, yes..suspension , no (even if Miller has a concussion Lucic didn't target the head which is Shanny's bread and butter suspension nowadays).

Now on to the gutless talk let's talk about how gutless Buffalo's players were in defending their goalie. Okay no one on the ice is a fighter (BS Gaustad can go) but McCormick had the whole rest of the night to take a crack at Lucic and no one did.

Different NHL then, and the players are much bigger and faster today. The intent is more predominant than ever, but I get what you're saying. Guys back then would rough you up. Now you have players purposely trying to end guys careers. Before it was to take the guy out of the play. Now it's to end the guy. Thus the record amount of concussions and other serious injuries that add up continuously. Of course the league is working hard at eliminating that, but it still unfortunately happens. btw Miller got a concussion from that hit. But now you just see guys bear hug vs. make the big hard hit to the guy into the boards. At least less guys leaping off their skates or elbows to the head. Would be interesting to see how effective Chris Pronger will be now.

At the end of the day, it was an illegal hit and Looch knew better, but it's a fast thinking game and players sometimes make bad choices in the heat of the moment.

yes I did hear this morning that Miller has a concussion from the hit but I still don't think you suspend Lucic for it.

"I'm not a Bruin fan by any means, but if you look at that hit, he sure could have done alot worse. He put his arms into his body and pushed off as he hit Miller. I'd say it's a 50/50 hit. Luc could have tried to move, and Miller, who is your typical whiny goaltender, should have stayed in his net. I'm a huge Vancouver fan, and we have to deal Lou who tries to do the same thing and play the puck... which always seems to backfire. But that was no where near the Matt Cooke type hit."

The above is a quoted from a dobberhockey poster, and I couldn't agree more.

Sure it was clean, but he could have moved. Plain and simple, you don't run the goalie. That is very known in hockey. Goalies don't fight (it's a rarity unless you're Ron Hextall, Billy Smith, or Brent Johnson), and you never eff with the goalie. Plus it's unfair for the goalie, all the crap they wear. Well, from a hits perspective they have more armor, but for fights it always looks so awkward. lol

Just ask Timmy Thomas. :nana:

Don't misinterpret my posts. I never said he deserved a suspension in any of my posts, but the hit should have not taken place. Either way, it was an illegal hit. Case closed.

Now lets discuss why everyone wants to end Mike Green's career every time he steps on the ice. Hits to the head along the boards. Knee-on-knee in his last game. It seems like there is a bounty for his head. :horror

I will agree with you there. Most are very level headed.

Yeah, slamming the league on its class level because you come up with classless clowns like Cooke and Avery is not even .01 percent of the league. It's pretty weak if you ask me.

Every league has its clowns. Shame on you Ringer! You know better. :nana:

it was me and I wasn't slamming the league on it's class level..I just said we are more or less discussing class and the league employs a guys with multiple headshot offenses (Cooke came to mind because I'm from New England) and a guy who talks about his sloppy seconds in an interview. Hockey players are beyond some of the most classy guys in any sports and I am not shooting down the class of a league over a few "bad apples"

That guy either has a target on him bad or some dumb luck with his injuries. One thing I also don't understand is how a guy who attempts to headbutt players hasn't had his clock cleaned yet (I'm looking at you Kaleta"

now let's talk about a travesty....how is Tyler Seguin not on the AS ballot???

Does anyone know if the NHL is doing the fantasy draft AS game again this year??

now let's talk about a travesty....how is Tyler Seguin not on the AS ballot???

The way he's playing it'll be hard to ignore him as a write in. Last year I loved the Bergeron-Marchand-Recchi line, now this year with Seguin slotted in it's fast and even more efficient.

It can't be said enough. Thank you Toronto.:)

Tyler Seguin is the next Steven Stamkos. So-so rookie season. Not reminiscent of a top 2 pick, to super stardom in their sophomore campaign. Lets see if he can keep this up now.

A fan's outrage concerning Milan Lucic not getting suspended.

i totally agree. in reading Shanny's comments about why he didn't suspend Lucic seems awfully out of character for what he's been doing with other decisions he's been making lately. No intent? Isn't one of the key things to look for is to see if the player follows through? Lucic looked like he was trying to go right THROUGH Miller. it's disgusting.

It was Ringer. Don't take the fall man. BLAME HIM! :nana:
