another tic-tac-toe finish by the Sedins, and the 'Red Menace' looked pretty good in goal tonight.

When do the play-offs start again....?

...here come the Sedin bashing gifs.:nana:

Leafs dropped the ball big time tonight...how the F do you let a 4-1 lead go to waste? Pfft!

The Pens have heart and passion. Also drive. They don't quit! There is a reason they finished 2nd overall in the East last season despite all their injuries and why they currently are riding a 8 game win streak. :yess:

Again, it happens to great teams a lot. It's what defines them. Coming out when needed. They knew they were losing 4-1 to a lesser team in their own building and felt they were better than that. Proof is in the pudding. They are the come back team.

If you saw Fleury in the third period, overtime, and shootout you would know he was the star of that game. Sullivan was no slouch either. If it wasn't for his unassisted goal on Gardiner's gaff, where he basically says "Here Steve, it's all yours." - action: pass.... we probably wouldn't have seen a Pens win out of that 4-1 deficit. No thanks due to Matt Cooke. He's one Pen (along with Martin), I don't mind if this was their last season.

I love this. Their wins of late have shut up the Caps fans here, the Leafs fans, and CC who believed, that what, the Pens wouldn't make the playoffs? Riiiight. Again, I can't say enough how much I am loving this! :rock

You won't see that for a while yet. This thread really takes off in the playoffs. When certain teams (bandwagon) fans show up in the playoffs and go deep, that's when they come out in droves. It's what separates the pretenders from the real fans. People that post in this thread since day 1 that support their team even in through months like these.

I actually like this time of year. Seeing the usual suspects come out and post on a consistent level is nice. You may not agree with them, and many a night you might not even like them. In the end, you know they are the real deal when it comes to being fans of the sport. And in my books that makes them the ____!

Bruins claw back from a 2 goal deficit and win on a goal from the redline??? Was Anderson sleeping on that one or something???

Fantasy keeper:

Tyler Ennis
Brendan Smith
Eddie Lack

or

Mike Cammalleri
Zdeno Chara (keep in mind Chara turns 35 this year)

Chara shows no signs of slowing down but Cammalleri may have a new team again next season. I would take Chara in a keeper league because he stills plays like he's 30 not 35

You mean 5-1 lol, Leafs got ripped off on that first goal by Bozak and the Pens looked like utter ____ through out the whole game, Leafs dominated them pretty much all game save for the last few mins of the 2nd and just a few mins of the third which was all the Pens needed. I think Wilson should have went with Lupul in the SO not Kessel.

That Cooke is a real piece of ____ player.

Actually the Pens looked pretty strong for most of the third, parts of OT, and in the shootout. In the end, a game is played in 60 minutes (65 minutes and a SO in this case), and every player is accountable. I am not a fan of Matt Cooke either. I thought he cost us the game when he tripped Joffery Lupul. Funny how it was a disappointing signing in Steve Sullivan, who along with Marc-Andre Fleury, who were the heroes of that game. Evgeni Malkin is totally clutch btw. He has factored into more winning goals than any player I can remember in recent memory. If he doesn't get the GW'ers in regulation time or OT, he gets them in the shootout. Or he assists on other's game winners. I believe he has factored into 20 of his team's game winning goals. Amazing! Was pretty meh for most parts of the game going -2 and not looking his usual dominate self that he's been in the past dozen games where he's scored 12 goals. But boy oh boy when they looked for that game-tying goal did he press and they were flying.

Anyone who says Fleury is a hack of a goalie in this thread really should rethink that thought, since he was dominating in the most important part of the game, those minutes he was perfect when the Jets made their come back. Also, the Leafs were given so many juicy chances to score, it wasn't funny. His 4 goals allowed is not indicative of his performance last night. Haven't seen a goalie flash so much effective glove hand in a game since Carey Price did against the Jets in Game 1 of the regular season.

Pens looked really good. However, there were moments where they really looked bad too. The Pens can't always rely on Malkin to get them out of these three goal deficit games in the third period. These early game woes are going to catch up to them eventually. I see them getting some help on defence very soon.

It wasn't Malkin this time. Yes, he accounted for the game-tying goal and the only shoot out attempt that converted into a goal for the game deciding victory, but it was also the great play of our bottom six lines that helped get the comeback rolling. It started off with Steve Sullivan and then Joe Vitale. If it wasn't for our bottom six which outplayed the Kunitz-Malkin-Neal top line for the majority of the game, No. 71 wouldn't be in the position to be Mr. Clutch again.

They got robbed, but also fell apart in the third, telling you, Leafs miss the playoffs.
