3 SO in 4 games for Fleury and yet no Deeznutz saying how awesome he is. Booo!!!

Did you watch those games? Admittedly he played well against the Kings, but let's not get carried away with a shot out against Buffalo, how many shots did they have, 20?

Take away the three shutouts and I think every other game he has let in 3 or more ( the Wings, flyers and even the Devils come to mind)when he plays good consistenly, Ill be the first on his bandwagon.

Wait... Someone is complaining the Pens don't get enough media attention? That's like saying there just aren't enough commercials on TV, or that orange juice is too orange.

:lol :exactly:

If I see Crysby's face again at any point the rest of my life it'll be too soon.

Who's saying that? Show me this alleged post...

And stop boohooing folks. The Pens are a great team with the two best players in the game. Of course they'll garner attention.

No they don't.

Yes they do. Career point-per-game average in the new NHL (since the 04/05 lockout) and personal and team achievements say otherwise.

But thanks for playing the game.

Oh and Deez, you forget the other two games MAF stopped nearly 70 shots for two shutouts. But thanks for focusing on the one game. Oh and it's not always quantity, sometimes there is quality there.

And how about that Johnny Gaudreau kid? Yikes! What a talent! Leads all NHLers in takeways. Rookies in a plus minus rating with 8, and now has 8 points in his last 6 games. Love him!

Career stats mean squat when you discuss who's the best right now, what they do this season is all that matters.

Maf? Give me a break, he's the Tony Romo of the NHL - chokes when it matters most!

Last I checked, the Pens have been sent packing very early, very often in the post season for awhile now and it's due large in part to that sieve.

Also, STFU Eli! :wave :wink1:

So who are the best two players in the game?

Eli, I gave him props for the Kings game, I'd have to check the shots in the press game, thought it was a low total, I could be wrong

Checked.... Preds had 25 shots
Consistency is all I'm looking for from him, still think nothing will change as its all in his head

Yup, who are the two best players in the game? Answer DAMMIT! ANSWER! :angrycanu

And to Deez: Fleury has been insane of late. All I ask is you give the man his props! I'll break you!!!!

Yeah... saying "best in the game" is just too broad. You have to define your parameters. If you just say "best all around player" that can still mean two things... best in terms of individual talents or best in terms of ability to win. Sidney Crosby has more talent than Jonathan Toews. However Jonathan Toews is the better player.

If I'm forced to choose best player with no other definitions, as much I hate to give that stinky little puke any credit, Patrick Kane is the best player in the game today (today being the last few years) to me. But it's a slim margin. Toews, Kane, Kopitar, Malkin, Chara, Quick and Weber are up there as the top players in the game overall and at their positions. Crosby is an amazing talent, but he has been injured too much the last few years and more importantly, has tailed off in the playoffs, to be in the same conversation as those other players.

Agreed Surly.

Crosby mustered up a whopping one goal in the entire playoffs last year, and MAF finished 10th or worse in GAA, GA, and SV%. The only Penguin in the conversation is the former Conn Smythe winner Malkin.

Kopitar just might be the best overall player, man.

Well... I think he is, but I didn't want to just outright say it, or else I would just get labeled a homer :)

I've thought Kopitar had potential to be the league's best overall center the day I first saw him play his first NHL game. When you watch him night in and night out, while he hits cold streaks with scoring now and again, he is just a near perfect player. A horse, has high end speed and skill, hangs onto the puck like it's glued to him, can take a beating, rarely gets injured for long, leads, throws his weight around but is never dirty, he's my favorite player of all time to be honest. Only thing he doesn't do that Toews will is fight.

But I have to give it up to Patrick Kane... that dude just oozes money out of his pores. I hate his face more than any other face in the league... the most hateable face since Darren McCarty, but that jerk basically took the Kings to 7 games and nearly won the series all by himself.

Yeah they don't really make 'em quite like those guys anymore. Probably for the best lol. Those were great games.

God I miss listening to Thorne and Clement.
