I'm more than happy to let the east coasters continue undervaluing Kopitar ;)

Not at all, Kopitar is a great player, but no one in hockey takes him ahead of anyone I mentioned,if they are starting a franchise tomorrow.

I think an argument can certainly be made for him ahead of Crosby and Stamkos, mostly because he provides as much defense as he does offense. Crosby and Stamkos have the higher end talent but those two players can't come close to comparing in terms of defensive talent and the blend of the two. Toews yes, the other two, no. If you are building a fantasy hockey team, sure you go with the top talent, but I think the last several Cup winning #1 centers have proven that high end defensive skill wins out. Datsyuk, Kopitar, Toews, Bergeron. All of these guys have great offensive skill, but their defensive abilities are what really shine in the playoffs and win Cups.

Wait, Kopitar over Crosby? Wow, nice bias... sure I am a Pens fan, and you can say the same for me, but Crosby's sheer dominance tells us this. Seriously, look at any major media outlet and any fan outside of Crosby and Kopitar and who they would pick, even those who look at No. 87 as Cindy Crybaby would even admit who's the best. And it's certainly not Anze. Oh man... this one will definitely go down as a hoot.

As it stands I would put even Getzlaf and Perry over Kopitar... and then like Deeznutz said, there is Malkin, Stamkos, Tavares, and Toews who I like more. Heck, I even prefer Seguin to Kopitar. Don't get me wrong, he's a good player, but really?! LOL

Too rich.

P.S. I am a season ticket holder of a Western-based team. We were always a Western-based city, because of history... oh and geography. The Jets were only in the East for a while because of the Thrashers. Now we are where we should be. Granted I would prefer to be in the weaker Eastern Division from 2 years ago.

Anyway, moving along from that nice bit of comedy provided by Planet Yankee and SurlyJ, I am loving Tarasenko, the Jets play of recent. The Pens and Canucks have been lights out amazing and Cam Ward's reclaiming his No. 1 status has made for some very interesting stories. So far this has been a very interesting NHL campaign. And Los Angeles, what's happening to them? They have been struggling mightily for a reigning Stanley Cup team. Team morale looks to be down.

Kopitar was injured the entire time. The Kings go as Kopitar goes. Why? He's that good ;)

I agree it was funny when Crysby netted a whopping one goal all last post season and was sent packing early. Again. Pure comedy really.

Kings will be fine, they're probably still gassed from playing 900 game 7's :lol

Pens have given Fleury a 4/$23 extension. Sorry Deez, and congrats Eli.:lol

I'm going to puke...

I have said this before and I'll say it again, since I have yet to be proven wrong, the Pens will NEVER win a Stanley cup with him in goal.

If they do, I'll get MAF tattooed on me

What funny is how irrelevant the rags have been for 20 years and still are, you get one lucky run and start running around like peacock.

No one even mentions them to come out of the east again because they fluked their way to the final last year and have no chance of doing it again this year.

Fleury was decent-to-good last playoffs. NEVER, eh? Hmmm... somebody must have been born yesterday. If I recall, looking further back from yesterday, history has told us he has been in 2 Cup Finals and won a Stanley Cup, and that was at ages 23 and 24. One of those years he posted 3 SO, a 1.97 GAA, and .933 save percentage. I can't help but think you're smoking from the same crack pipe as SurlyJ and PlanetYankee. hehe

Again, this is all in the past, much like your reasons for not liking Fleury. So far, knock on wood, he's been one of the better goalies this year.

Thanks! I'll keep my Loui Eriksson better than Crosby post in the holster then.:wink1:

You're too knowledgable of a hockey fan to believe any of your Bruins are better than Crosby, but you can definitely make the argument that your team is better than the Penguins. Having said that, I like what our new coach has done as well as the new additions... ;)

Also, BRAT!

Yes he was decent to good last year, but awful since winning the cup, that is why I said never again. Decent to good simply won't win cups, he was possibly the worst goalie in all of last years playoffs if you look at th teams that made in, Christ they barely beat Columbus with all his bumbling and stumbling around and ya he has played some good games this year, but those 12 games had some typical flower blunders, that **** simply won't cut it to win another one, it won't.

Unless your name is Antti Niemi.
