Buffalo will be much better than Toronto. They made a lot of the appropriate deals and have a good coach, regardless of what some may think. The only fear I have is goaltending. It's still a question mark, but they have a lot of potential able bodies who could rise... but who exactly will be the guy to do it... if any of them will.... They definitely need to try and get another guy there. Getting Eddie Lack would have been huge for them. I know they are still looking to add another defenseman with a left handed shot for their top 4. But yeah, they look solid on paper, especially their forward group. We'll see what chemistry forms. Because what looks good on paper, doesn't always translate to good things on the ice. The pre-full season lockout Rangers would attest to that.

Toronto will be worse than Buffalo next year I'd imagine.

Without question.

But I think it'll be due to the fact that not only Toronto's gonna Toronto, but also the fact that Buffalo's rebuild has come about more quickly than I think was expected. It seems like they've shaved a good two years off it.

Hell, I thought Sharp, Bickell, or Versteeg would have been dealt by now. I don't think a single Hawks fan saw Saad getting dealt. We were told all season long moves would be made so the Hawks could get far enough under the cap to sign Saad. 6 million a year for 6 years is a hard number to swallow for for Stan though. Especially with the cap crunch this team is facing.

Toronto is... eh... we'll see just how good Babcock is with this sorry mess. I still think he was product with what Holland and the scouts in Detroit gave him. Because Mike adopted such a mess of a team there from Scotty Bowman. *rolls eyes*

Lets see what their 50 million dollar coach does. Oh Shanahan, you silly bugger. I do however like Nylander, Marner, and Bracco as their prospects. All three are shiny and chrome.

Very unusual that the Hawks traded both players in their own division

Their situation with the salary cap is what caused that. They have to scramble to get under the cap and they still want to sign Kruger. Hawks are gonna have to try and deal Bickell and Versteeg as well. Desperation can make for some unusual trade partners.

And..... Columbus isn't in there conference anymore :slap

I had a rough weekend

If there wasn't enough reasons to dislike Ryan O'Reilly, he gave us another reason to fuel the hate for the guy. And what an epically good reason... you sorry sorry man.

No big deal. They've been a pretty forgettable team since they entered the NHL. Now, don't get me started on the NHL moving Detroit out of the Western Conference. The NHL could have had Winnipeg, Colorado, or Dallas take their place in the East. Detroit should have stayed in the Central. The Hawks finally have a team to compete with Detroit after all these years and the NHL up and moves them out of the Conference. :lol

What did he do?

Edit - oh, drunk driving and leaving the scene.

Lou Lamoriello resigns as president of the Devils and is named GM for the Leafs. Wow, that came out of nowhere. Must have been a hell of a deal.

Damn I thought it was some sort of a joke.
I gotta admit after reading through some Bleacher Report articles best social media response has to be this.

My favorite scene is when Dubas finds out Lou is actually his dad.

“Search your feelings. You know it to be true.”

“NOOOOOOOOOO! NOOOO!”

LOL

Slava Voynov possibly being deported.

Patrick Kane on the possible move?

Quebec and Las Vegas in the third phase of getting a team? Chances looking good we may have those as new site locations for teams for the 2016/17 season.

All this and more.... NHL season commences in 30 days! DUN DUN DUN!

Patrick Kane isn't going anywhere

1. You don't know that. Nobody knows if he's innocent or guilty. Only father time knows the answer.

2. I am referring to the 5 teams who have shown interest. And don't be shocked if the Blackhawks move him if he is found out to be guilty. There will always be a team that won't want him for moral reasons, but others will forgo that due to his talent. See Eagles with Michael Vick. Where many teams wouldn't touch him with a ten foot pole, they were more than happy to give him a chance.

And 3.... I pretty much resurrected the thread, because it's getting to be that time.

Isn't he going to jail?

As some of you know, I'm a big Hawks fan and obviously I'm a huge Kane fan as well. That all said, jail is exactly where he belongs if he did it. Rape cases are difficult to prove. Especially when an athlete is involved so I'm skeptical that Kane will serve any prison time or be found guilty. Guilt or innocence aside, Kane obviously has a drinking problem. Before this incident, he was already warned that his off the ice behavior was becoming a problem for the organization. Whatever way this case goes, he has embarrassed himself, his family, and the Blackhawks organization with these allegations. I'm not against going out and drinking with some friends or even getting laid. Most of us have done it. However, Kane has to be smarter than this. He simply cannot put himself in these situations. He is a high profile athlete making 10 million a year. Whether he likes it or not, he has to be mindful of his actions because ANYTHING he does (good or bad) can become newsworthy.

My son has become a HUGE Blackhawks fan over the last 3 years and Kane is his favorite player. Explaining salary cap restrictions and the Saad trade to an 8 year old wasn't easy. He couldn't understand why the Blackhawks would let a young and talented player go. Given his age (and that it's the off season), he isn't aware of what's going on with the Kane allegations. If Kane is guilty or gets traded, I can't even imagine how I'll start the conversation of his favorite player getting tossed in jail or wearing another teams sweater. I just told my son about the birds and the bees a couple of months ago. He's still processing that info. Never thought I'd possibly be explaining rape to him so soon after. Especially under these circumstances.
