Re: 2013 NHL Season

^^ It's too bad. Love watching Karlsson play.

No shock that pest Cooke was involved.

Matt Cooke wasn't looking, which you can clearly see when he makes contact with Erik Karlsson's leg. That's just dumb luck. If he was looking for that fleshy spot, which is a very small area, then I can see you getting mad at Cooke for it. Even some Sens fans are admitting it was an accident. People forget, Cooke has cleaned up his act for more than a season now. Yes, he has been a ****disturber (his job in the past and he still is), but the guy made a hit that unfortunately cost Karlsson his season. It just looks worse because of the player's name.

I feel bad for the Sens as he was their anchor.

And as for best player in the game. That's debatable. Best defenseman? Absolutely!

And FYI, I am not a fan of Cooke and I am absolutely a fan of Karlsson's game. It's crappy. Still, lets use another antidote of logic to this story. The Penguins do not play the Senators again until the final week of the season. What do they get out of taking Karlsson out? Nothing. The motive isn't there. Moving along,. Nothing to see. Find a new witch hunt.

Re: 2013 NHL Season

Yeah.... he was garbage for the Jets, so you enjoy!

He was an integral part to our Stanley Cup run last season.

But you keep thinking, Eli. That's what you're good at.

Yeah, I am saying he didn't work for the Jets, so stop with the sarcastic *** attitude. Yes, I get he was good in the Devils run. Thus why the Jets signed him. That and he had past chemistry with Antropov, but the experiment didn't work well. But yeah, you keep thinking ****, you're good at it. Being a ****.

No witch hunt here. It is what it is. For all your hockey knowledge the guy is a clown and always has been one. Get a clue Eli.

LOL I need to get a clue... It was an accident, but I suppose all a short sighted person sees is a superstar gets hurt by a guy with a bad history, and it's just that easy. You solved it buddy. No, it was an accident. What motive does he have? And if you look from the front angle, he is clearly not looking when his skate goes down, so unless he has eyes in the back of his head, he could have not done it on purpose. It was dumb luck.

But hey, whatever... think what you want to think.

btw I never was happy we got Matt Cooke, nor do I care for him even after he has cleaned up his game. He's a clown as you put it, but it was an unfortunate accident. Well I gotta go now, I need to get myself a clue.

Re: 2013 NHL Season

Anyway, have fun with the thread. I am done. I have a dad who's dying in a few weeks and the last thing I need is to bicker about small stuff like this. :wave

You keep bringing up that he wasn't looking. You don't have to be in that situation. Just get close to a player, lift your leg and make a downward motion at an angle and there you go. By the way, if it was anyone else, I could see your point.

Sorry, not Cooke. I don't give the benefit of the doubt to that guy based on his track record in the league. None whatsoever.

Sorry about your dad Eli. Hope you cherish every moment with him.

Speaking of Dads, I'm at the Pens/ Jets game with mine right now! It's his first hockey game ever, and it's been a blast watch his reactions about how "big" the rink is and how the players can see the puck. Lol.
He's kinda freaking out about the watch out for flying pucks announcement. Lol. I'm really excited though! It's my first time seeing Sid the Kid live!

Re: 2013 NHL Season

Thanks man. Good game so far. Fleury has been sharp. Hopefully the Jets can tie and Pavs keeps standing on his head! Just marveling are the Pens' passing! Big difference watching on tv and live!

I'll try and post a pic of Sidney. Disappointed that the fans haven't come up with a good chant
though. 3rd period next!

Re: 2013 NHL Season

Went to watch my brother play in this Asian(can have three non-Asian per team though) tournament final today at Ricoh Coliseum and his team won 10-7 if i remember correctly..took a couple pics.

Funny he wears a cage now, used to never before breaking his nose a few weeks ago at shinny, took a puck off the nose from a shot that hit the crossbar.

Re: 2013 NHL Season

****ing awesome- I've been looking forward to tonight's game for quite some time and it really was a thriller.

I thought Pens had that with all of the Flyer's stupid *** penalties but Bryz and the boys really stood their ground. :clap :yess:

Re: 2013 NHL Season

As I see it, the Isles are waiving the white flag on him and getting him bubble-wrapped for an amnesty this off season. If Wang wants to sell the team, it'd help the value of the franchise to not have a contract slot and the extra dough tied up in a dead asset for 8 years. The new owners would get as clean a slate as can be had once DiPietro is amnestied and Yashin's buyout reaches 2 years remaining.

Re: 2013 NHL Season

One thing I noticed with DP the past couple of seasons is that not only were his injuries keeping him out of games, but I'm starting to think they were forcing him to drastically adjust his methods.

His crease technique got significantly worse in the past couple of years. He used to have pretty good crease movement, but the past couple seasons, he has had terrible efficiency. Instead of going side to side like he used to, he will come forward, and C cut backwards to where he wants to go.

It's an incredibly weird and inefficient method, and I don't remember him doing that earlier in his career. Since I can't imagine his skating has gotten worse or he would randomly choose to adopt this style, I would assume it has something to do with his weaker hips / knees.

Re: 2013 NHL Season

Don't get me wrong I absolutely hate the pens, but I hate to see another star hurting from a concussion.
