It looked like Whitney didn't really get hit....yet he had a cut under his left eye. Redden was done when the jersey came up.

Wrong Whitney bro. You're thinking of Ray Whitney the forward from the Carolina Hurricanes. He's the Canadian. Ryan Whitney the defenseman for the Pittsburgh Penguins is an American born and bred. Nonetheless, he doesn't get into a lot of fights either.

well that was interesting. avs own wild leading 2-0 till the third, then the wild get a goal off an av defenseman skate and add a pp goal from a phantom penalty to tie it at 2.

in the last six minutes the avs get TWO goals waved off, hit the crossbar, hit the post and get stopped on a penalty shot. it seemed all the forces of the universe and nhl officiating were against them until Super Joe makes it right again. tips in a shot from the point for his 8th playoff ot winner!

and for all you taking note. i noticed over the past two games a weakness in the wild game and now the third game tonight confirmed it. the way to best the wild is taking point shots and looking for the tip in or rebound. all three avs goals were this way tonight. great game!

Well the Pens got their wish. By tanking the Philly game they got a gimme series vs the Sens. The Sens looked pathetic last night. They have no real hope of winning this series. I was glad to see the Flames win game 1.

Yes, Ottawa got manhandled badly. Not just offensively, but also on a physical level. The Pens weren't a push over like they were in Philadelphia. First period were 6-1 in hits in favour of Philly during the 1st period last Sunday. Nice to see this team show some bite so early into the series.

Yes, goaltending is a bit of a worry for me. While Fleury got the perfect game, he did it by not really being tested. When he does, I hope he doesn't faulter. However, a great opening game like this can only help his confidence. You were taken 1st overall before guys like Eric Staal, Ryan Getzlaf, Nathan Horton, and Nikolai Zherdev Fleury... Do not disappoint! Prove why you were taken 1st in the 2003 draft class, arguably the best draft class ever.
