Also I played A LOT of Nintendoland this weekend at a family event. This game is Game of the Year when it comes to playing with others. My strict, annoying brother-in-law was even giggling playing the Animal Crossing game over the weekend. And he was dressed as a pink squirrel too. :p

Have you played Rayman Raving Rabbids?

It's a great party game that utilizes the gamepad in several, very interesting ways. For example, there is a stage where the rabbids are ice skating and you use a giant fan to blow them so that they slide and hit the opponent. You do this by actually blowing onto the gamepad controller. :lol

Another party game is almost like the movie Ghostbusters. One player uses the touchscreen gamepad to identify where the ghosts are. This player will often have to stand and spin around 360-degrees, while looking at the gamepad screen, searching for the ghosts. Once spotted, he/she squirts it with water.
Now, the player with the wii remote and nunchuck controller can see the ghost on the big screen and proceeds to shake the nunchuk controller up/down while keeping the wii remote aimed at the ghost (who is also trying to get away). The shaking of the nunchuk pulls the ghost closer towards you and that player then has to point the wii remote at the other players touchscreen gamepad to trap the ghost inside.
It's a brilliant teamwork game and damn hilarious too. :clap

Question: For new super mario brothers u.

Is it possible to turn off the screen on the gamepad, but continue using the gamepad as a controller with the tv.

Good question.

I don't believe so. Don't quote me on that, but I don't think you can turn off the touchscreen and still play with the gamepad.

No, it's not, but you can use a wii remote as an alternative if you don't want the gamepad screen in your face.

Thanks. Love the game pad so I don't plan on going back to the wii remotes anytime soon.

Yeah I answered this a couple pages back. The two games that Ive played so far are Mario U and Zombi U and niether let you use the Pro Controller (except for Multiplayer in Zombi U) which is annoying if you wanted that option.

Also, don't forget that guy can turn the screen brightness down on the gamepad to save battery.

Good idea. I have not had any issues with battery life, but the screen brightness is a bit much when playing at night. Is it simple to make that adjustment?

I'm assuming its somewhere on the menu screen.

Yeah, in the Wii U menu homepage/lobby.

You guys need to quit bumping this thread. I feel myself wanting one of these more and more with every bump. :panic:

I am really looking forward to Aliens Colonial Marines on the WII U. Using the gamepad as a motion tracker is going to be awesome. I think the WII U version will be the one to own for this game, anybody agree?
