Well, I was talking about Teemu, but whatever.

There's ways to express your feelings without resorting to saying alienating things.

Like for example...check out this horrible atheist on reddit.

Good lord. Why are you singling me out? You're the one who was trying to get someone to discuss the merits of people telling other people they're going to hell because they don't want to believe in God.

There was no :lol or :D or anything to indicate you're just willing to have a causal conversation about people's inability to be kind to each other. And yes, I do think it's very rude thing to say. Notice how no one wanted to touch that. I'm assuming you're a religious person, who's trying to get people to understand your view on that, am I right? Otherwise, you wouldn't be acting so cranky right now, or thinking you're insulting me by not knowing The Bible word for word. And I don't. And I doubt I ever will. Not my thing. And it sucks this thread turned into a "HOLLYWOOD IS BLASPHEMOUS!" thread, instead of discussing the story itself, it's merits as a film.

Oh. Well.

Nope. One person casually stated he didn't think that a loving God would turn his back on people suffering. I mentioned how tiny "suffering" in one human lifetime really is when you measure it by time spread over billions of years. Whether your believe in heaven or a godless cosmos any suffering we feel is the tiniest, tiniest thing. That's a fact. A relative millisecond is a relative millisecond.

I threw in the "if you're a believer" when referencing heaven because, well, news flash, obviously heaven is a place for people who want to go there and I simply didn't want to be referencing it erroneously. That's all.

Don't believe it if you want, go see movies that change Bible events, whatever, but don't turn this thread into a "who gets mocked according to CP." It ain't gonna happen and your participation will end if that's what you aim to do.

I'm not censoring posts that contain opposing beliefs. But deliberately stirring up trouble will be handled just as it is in any other thread.

Well, I'm glad it works for you. It doesn't work for me. But that doesn't take away from the fact that I really hate when people spew out "Believe OR else!"

And talk about fallen angles and all that crap. That's nutty.

Well I guess you Hate God then...(which all unbeliever's do)

I believe what Jesus says....

Jesus said it himself in John 3:3 "Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."

to be Born again means to believe and to have a change of mind (from the world)..... even believing is part of Repentance

and Jesus said this twice Luke 13:3-5 "I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish."

and in...

Matthew 7:13-14 "Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it."

can go on and on with Scripture...

but believe the good news in I Corinthians 15:1-4(the death, burial, and resurrection)and call upon the name of the Lord and be saved!

How can an unbeliever hate something they don't believe in? Isn't that some kind of paradox?

When I see people quote the bible literally they may as well be quoting me chapter 4 verse 3 of Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire as a real biography.

He's already got a fictional terrorist for an avatar, not sure how God would feel about that.

First of all, I don't consider myself an 'unbeliever'. I don't subscribe to a belief in the supernatural, of which I consider the concept of an interventionist god to be a part. But, labelled as such, the first thing I'd say would be...

How can an unbeliever hate something they don't believe in? Isn't that some kind of paradox?

He's not the ideal poster child but it isn't hard to believe either. This was in my door just this afternoon :

And yes that actually says that God has and will continue to literally raise people from the dead to live here on earth not that they will live on in heaven or metaphorically through your memories. And eventually god will do away with death as a thing and everyone will live in eternity, again, here on earth.

Oh and on the back of the pamphlet you can leave a date and time thats good for these people to come back and into your home to talk more about this and maybe murder and eat you.

Well if this hasn't turned into a basher of a thread, if it was any other religion under attack in this thread it would be closed. The movies base line is that it is based on a biblical story and according to the spoilers inverts the meaning of that story, which will not affect the believers and people who know the source, however to the broader public who will see it, it does sell the greater agenda, which is being played out to the world.

Yea what makes you a ****tier piece of unredeemable human trash, spreading fear to those that disagree with you by telling them they'll burn in hell forever or having a laugh at the maniac psychopath who takes a fictional novel so literally? Tough one.

Well if this hasn't turned into a brasher of a thread, if it was any other religion under attack in this thread it would be closed.

This thread should've been closed ages ago. But it's not as though Judeo-Christianity is copping it arbitrarily. It's a movie clearly based on the events in Genesis, a story which most people here will be very familiar with. It's not surprising that the discourse has avoided dumping on the Hare Krishnas. That may well happen with Michael Bay's next release though.

People do not like to be told they are sinners I get it, I don't preach people are going to hell.
If you've had a bad experience with Christians then you met a bad Christian not the wrong religion

Yeah not you man, certain others in this thread and it goes completely unmoderated because it's quoting some bull**** book.
