Yea the chances of guns being outlawed is about as good as Roe V. Wade will being overturned, ZERO. A lot of paranoia is what is going on with both sides.

I wouldn't say that. If McCain gets in he has said that we won't put in justices that would NOT overturn RvW. And at least 2 judges will probably be out during the next 4 years.
On the other hand - Obama hasn't said anything about gun control.

Biden has previously made some comments about gun control though, which I think is where the paranioa comes from. I believe Roe V. Wade was a huge step for the country, and no judge would overturn it. McCain wants the states to be in charge of the issue, and though he may not agree with the decision, and appoint judges who see the constitution how he does, I still do not think it means Roe V Wade has any chance of being overturned.
Not to bash Obama, but I assure you that if he is the next president we will be the closest we have ever been to an outright ban on guns.

Obamas prior record has said LOTS about gun control. He's just not harping on it now because he knows he needs the gun owners. If he gets in, with a Democratically controlled house and senate and the anti-gun SCJ's he is sure to nominate you very well could see the end of private gun ownership. One of the things he has proposed was no gunstores within a 5 mile radius of any schools, virtually eliminating any places to legally purchase firearms.

he's saying a lot of damn things right now that he knows people want to hear without considering how to implement said empty promises. I don't know how anyone can believe him.
Just this morning, I heard him give a speech in some town saying, "And when I'm president I will cut the Capital Gains tax for small business." Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't this two-faced, lying SOB say the exact opposite during the debates and said he was going to INCREASE the captial gain tax for businesses???

But that's not what he said - he said he'd reduce or maintain the capital gains tax under a certain income level. I was really paying attention to this as capital gains is where I'm worried about Obama.

I'm just sick of it Dave. But I swear, this morning in a speech to the masses, he said, "I will cut Capital Gains tax for small businesses." Yet everything I've heard is that he is proposing an increase to 28%, and that figure has waivered some. There are a lot of small businesses that make more than $250,000. People are acting like people who make 1/4 of a million dollars are millionaires. And people think their hard work should go to other people who don't pay any taxes and choose to just collect another (larger) wellfare check under Obama's plan.

We can only hope because if he does become the prez our economy is going to get A LOT worse. People think it's bad now(and it is), but this would just be the tip of the iceberg in an Obama/Pelosi/Reid government.

I'm pretty sure that whatever gets said during the campaign by whoever gets elected is going straight out the window the second something bad happens. Expediency is the mother of all political decisions when the only people who run for office are hardcore pragmatists.
Since both of them are collectivists at heart (socialist is the wrong term for it; they're collectivists who believe that government intervention is the solution to all economic problems, but neither are willing to go all out and say that total government control of the economy is the answer) what will be expedient is taking from some (by force) to give to others, according to need (and regardless of ability).

I have a nice start of a 401k that I've been workiing on for ~10 years that will now be under the government's control according to Pelosi and Reid. Makes me feel real confident. Since Social Securtiy was such a success, I'll be happy to hand my money over to a corrupt and wasteful government and trust them with my retirement.
