I respect your opinion.. However I feel w/ Old man McCain, Palin is closer than one step away..

Also I firmly believe Cheaney had more influence than Bush over the last 8 years..

Do you really believe Palin should repre3sent our Country even though she is "only" the VP?..

She would make us a laughing stock over the next 4 years..

Again, I am no Repub or Demo.. I vote for the best fit in the current situation.

I did think it was funny that she got punked by a couple of radio DJs yesterday. I'm glad her staff is on top of things.

I hear you. In all honesty I HATE my "choices" for this election. I am NO McCain fan at all. I do think Palin has come off rather stupid at times, but I also believe the media ( which other than Fox always leans left ) also does it's best to paint a bad picture of her. Before anyone rolls their eyes I also said she does come off looking stupid at times all by herself.

IMO Obama has some views that are VERY close to socialism even though the left won't admit it. This guys tax plan will take more money out of my pocket no matter what he says. Just say his gives this middle class tax cut....great, I see a few more bucks on my paycheck right? Well, all his big taxes on businesses means layoffs....fewer people working. It also means that companies will just raise prices on their products to cover the higher taxes so in the end I have less $$$$ then I did before.

The left has always had this wonderful idea of "everything for everyone" and wouldn't it be great if it could be that way? Sure, but in the real world it just doesn't work well.

I agree but for me McCain is much weaker than in the areas that IMO really matter.

1. Economic Recovery and Growth
2. Education
3. Health Care
4. Taxes

Ya know you list the role of government but in the last 8 years under Bush they're more involved and have more access to our lives than ever before.

I don't think so. I think many of the worlds nations will look and see we have someone who is willing to talk when they need to and shoot when they need to. Unlike Bush or McCain who just want to shoot. We should never have gone into Iraq anyways. That was nothing more than payback for his dad's screw up. There where other places Afghanistan or Darfur that we should have been paying attention to.

No it hasn't. Not sure where you got that info but that is totally false. His tax level is 250k and has not dropped a single dime. The costs that he is going to raise is to major businesses like Exon Mobile. Companies that can afford to take that kind of a hit. Obama has some spending he will do but he's also going to be cutting things that don't work. Hence it balances out in the long run and McCain will increase spending too but also says he will freeze spending which totally doesn't make sense. In other words he has no clue as to what he's going to do so he says both to appease everyone.

Again not sure where you got your info but its so utterly false its funny. As far as the gun control we need more of it and we need to figure out a way to do better with the laws on the books. That way people who want to own guns can and keep guns out of the crazies hands. Is there something wrong with wanting to expand the educational system?

As a teacher we need to do more to make sure people can get the best education possible. Do more to help public schools instead of things like vouchers which only hurt the public schools. Help make college more affordable for people so its not something for only the wealthiest of the wealthy. If we help the educational system in this country more people get a better education and therefore now have more doors to better jobs.

A side note I had to get student loans to go to college. If not for those I wouldn't have been able to. Do things the way McCain and the Republicans want to and folks like me won't be able to go.

McCain isn't exactly squeaky clean either.

The tapes that are out there of that one sermon is bad and makes one wonder. I don't know how bad the guy is overall but its a mark on him. I don't however think Obama is anti American.

I think this again goes to words being taken and twisted to make things appear as if they're not. The whole redistribution of wealth in true terms come from those making the 250k pay in taxes and used as credits for those on the lower end of the scale. I'm not sure why this is much of an issue as it helps them dig out and get to a place they can move up. Yes, there will be people that take advantage but there are wealthy doing that now which IMO is way worse.

He said the Bill Ayers was just a guy in his neighborhood but that was clearly not the case.[.quote]

Again, not true. Outside of a couple meetings in which they both set on a board they didn't hang out.

For years the Republicans had the advantage in financing and now that a Democrat has it you guys get all touchy. If McCain had all this money I guarantee you wouldn't be saying a thing.

Drilling isn't the answer. Plain and simple. I actually don't care for the fact he's now considering it. We need to find ways that take better care of the one and only planet we have to live on.

I have friends who are huge racists. Hate anyone not white but I'm not racists. So just because you have a friendship with someone doesn't make you that way.

I think we got some pretty serious issues. We're too much of a nation that only cares about "I" and not enough about "we". Not enough caring about your neighbor and doing whats right for the most amount of people. So yeah I think we have some fundamental flaws.

I heard something the other day that I think I agree with. MOST people who tend to vote Democrat honestly care about their neighbor while MOST that tend to vote Republican only care about themselves.

1) Biden, with all his foreign policy experience, just made this claim that he will be perceived as weak. His stance on the two crisis situations I noted are proof enough.
2) Obama is well on record saying $250. In his ad last week he said $200. Biden Oct 27th said $150 and it has NOT been refuted.
3) In 1999, he proposed a 500% tax on guns and ammo. In 2001 he opposed people with defensive orders on another person (ie an abused woman with a protective order on her spouse) should not be allowed to carry a weapon. In 2005 he voted to ban all but the smallest caliber ammunition.
4) Federal support for education has increased 138% since 1985. Currently each student on average will have a cost of $111,000 if they finish high school. Despite this, graduation rates have remained flat, yet more money is the answer.
5) It was well more than one sermon. I have listened to them, and they are available for anyone who wants to hear them.
6) Listen to the whole NPR interview it is VERY clear.
7) Obama started his political career in Ayer's living room, announcing his candidacy.
8) Obama was the one said he would use public finance and then backed out.
9) The high oil prices were due to speculation on oil FUTURES if there were no more oil would be injected into a fixed supply with greater demand. Add more supply, the speculators backed off.
10) You may have friends that are racist, but I would hope you don't make excuses for them, or deny you know about their views.
11) What made America great was the ability of the individual to go as far as his gifts and ambition would allow. And religious conservatives give more to charity than any other group. Liberals give the least. "Read "who Really Cares" by Arthur Brooks.

Biden said you would find out he had steal in his spine. So you are totally wrong on that. Iraq has been a misrable failure so again you're wrong and his stance on the issue with Georgia show a man willing to not have to fire when he doesn't need too. So you have proof you're wrong.

2) Obama is well on record saying $250. In his ad last week he said $200. Biden Oct 27th said $150 and it has NOT been refuted.

The ads said that the 150-200k would see an increase in the amount they got back.

I don't have a problem with the tax on guns and ammo. Those are want not a must have. What was attached to that deal in 2001? Was there a law already on the books that covered this? Again, I don't have a problem that honestly. IMO there are some guns and ammunition people don't need to own. They want to own it incase we're attacked or something silly like that.

4) Federal support for education has increased 138% since 1985. Currently each student on average will have a cost of $111,000 if they finish high school. Despite this, graduation rates have remained flat, yet more money is the answer.

You realize those numbers are counting inflation right? Are there some programs in the education system that needs to be tweaked? Yes, there is just like anything else and that would allow some of that money to be moved around. However, there is more thats needed IMO as someone who's in this field I can tell you from first hand experience more is needed.

5) It was well more than one sermon. I have listened to them, and they are available for anyone who wants to hear them.

Really? How many?

6) Listen to the whole NPR interview it is VERY clear.

Doesn't sound like anything more than what I said.

7) Obama started his political career in Ayer's living room, announcing his candidacy.

No he didn't. Jeez can you please at least get your facts straight. Pulling the party line on this is just sad and wrong.

8) Obama was the one said he would use public finance and then backed out.

Most of his money has come from people like me who have donated. You also avoided what I said which is pretty typical of the right.

9) The high oil prices were due to speculation on oil FUTURES if there were no more oil would be injected into a fixed supply with greater demand. Add more supply, the speculators backed off.

Drilling still isn't the answer. Is that hard to understand? We need to get off oil. Hell, even T. Boone Pickens who's a major oil guy says it. We need to find ways to take care of this planet and Drill, Drill, Drill ain't it.

10) You may have friends that are racist, but I would hope you don't make excuses for them, or deny you know about their views.

I don't.

11) What made America great was the ability of the individual to go as far as his gifts and ambition would allow. And religious conservatives give more to charity than any other group. Liberals give the least. "Read "who Really Cares" by Arthur Brooks.

That is a great thing but the greatest thing is helping your fellow man. I've read it and I'm calling total BS on that too. Religious Conservatives give for their bottom line not because they care. They tend to look down on those that they give too which is just beyond sad. Most Liberals tend to me in the Middle Class who only have so much money because of economics of this country. I give and I'd love give more but I can't afford it.

I don't think people would mind paying taxes if there wasn't so much waste and that their money wasn't misappropriated (stolen). Sadly, I don't think either party has a leg to stand on when it comes to waste and corruption. I live in a "blue" state and believe me we got plenty of that.

I'm in total agreement there.

I agree. Getting rid of the waste alone would probably balance our budget. My brother is a career navy man and he tells us of all the waste in the military alone. It's unbelieveable.

it does not really matter anymore. obama is going to get in to the white house. congress and the senate will make everything more messed up. not like the republicans didn't already.more broken promises and burned bridges. what america needs to do. make the 4o percent of the population living off of us working people, get a job, stop breeding and get off of welfare so were not carrying the load...

40% are on welfare? Where did you get that figure?

I was all set to vote for Obama, I know much of what has been said is distortions from the right, but today he said something unforgiveable.

He was calling John McCain a sidekick to Bush - "McCain is Kato to Bush's Green Lantern."

Green LANTERN? How do you make that mistake? Obviously he has no handle on the nerd community and cannot relate to us if he doesn't know a Lantern from a Hornet.
