No I mean hard working, not looking for handouts, and taking responsibility for your own life instead of becoming dependent on the gov't. to do it for you....if those things result in a person becoming wealthy......so be it.

They don't. Wealth comes from many variables. I think we all know hard working people who just can't seem to catch a break...

I'm curious how many Republicans here support abolishing all Federal entitlement programs, all research funding, all subsidies, and all regulatory agencies that require compliance to codes which essentially treat businesses as guilty until proven innnocent.

How many of you thought Bush's tax cuts should have been bigger? Are you aware that 51,000 new regulations went on the books between 2001 and now? Are you aware that the anti-trust division of the Bush Justice Department was more aggressive than Clinton's?

How many concessions did Bush make in favor of Palestinians against Israel? How many times did Bush act against Iran for supporting (more like creating) the Iraqi insurgency?

What is McCain's position on all of this? I've heard nothing but the same moral tripe from him that I ever hear when a Republican is opposed by a Democrat. That he wants to help just as much as the Democrat, but he'll do it right. As if there's a right way to appease, or to manipulate an economy. McCain will act if Iran does something? What about everything they've already done??? McCain wants to help the economy? What was he doing while those goosestepping monkeys were passing the bailout package???

I can't take the Republicans seriously anymore (never really could, but I've tried). Greenspan welched, and he was really the only thing the party ever had going for it. At the first sign of being blamed for the crisis, instead of owning up, he turned on the only principles worth a damn that the party had left. No, he wasn't an elected Republican politician, but he represented what the party was right up until Goldwater gave way to Nixon.

Obama is going to be the next President and it's because the Republican party used their last 8 years to completely and utterly FAIL. Accept it. Learn from your mistakes. And maybe you'll have a chance in 2012.

Just means they aren't working hard enough... or maybe because some people don't start of with the same advantages they can just take a pass on security this time around on life

Just curious, what concessions you are referring to? I am not going to start another argument:)lol) but I just want to know. I won't even rebuttal. :)

Feel free to rebut. I can always use a grindstone. :)

All of his talk about working toward a two-state solution, even after Hamas won their elections. Treating the Abbas government as legitimate. The lack of unequivocal moral support during the 2006 war with Hezbollah. Distancing himself from them after 9/11. Nothing in particular, and everything in general. His entire policy toward Israel has been to keep his support ambiguous and materially inconsequential, and I see that as a betrayal.

I've had too many arguments over the last few weeks on several others forums about the whole Israel-Palestine issue. Does nothing but create animosity amongst people and never really solve anything. :lol

Yeah, I really wasn't looking to open that box. Just wanted to make it abundantly clear why the Republican party should not get another four years in office.

It's always good to have a balance in the white house. One party should never be in power for too long.

Since you don't support the two-state solution (sorry if I'm wrong), what do you suggest should happen to the Palestinians?

Give up the ghost, live and let live, and either consent to Israeli citizenship or ask their Arab neighbors to stop using them as pawns in their proxy war against Israel, and allow them to naturalize there.

Right  Lets all forget about Lebanon in 2006. Ahhhhhh poor poor old Israelis God know how squeaky clean they are

carbo and I have been through this. Go look it up. After months of election crap polluting these threads, the last thing anyone needs is another Israel/Palestine argument.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the majority in the office democrats?

I'm talking about the Executive office, but the reason why the Democrats have the majority in Congress is because of the Republicans' first four years of failure.
