That is a great thing but the greatest thing is helping your fellow man. I've read it and I'm calling total BS on that too. Religious Conservatives give for their bottom line not because they care. I give and I'd love give more but I can't afford it.

Since when were you granted the power to discern peoples motives for giving?
That's the Lord's job.
Sure its a great thing to help your fellow man but its better if the individual
does so of his own free will and not with the government pointing a legal gun at your head.
Then telling what a patriot you are afterwards. Id rather make sure my charitable giving goes to
programs that are in synch with my values not the administration de jours.
Maybe youd have more to give if you werent so heavily taxed.

I was all set to vote for Obama, I know much of what has been said is distortions from the right, but today he said something unforgiveable.

He was calling John McCain a sidekick to Bush - "McCain is Kato to Bush's Green Lantern."

Green LANTERN? How do you make that mistake? Obviously he has no handle on the nerd community and cannot relate to us if he doesn't know a Lantern from a Hornet.

He also said Fred Sanford's wife was Wheezy not Elizabeth.

I suppose you either believe that government has a responsibility to help the less well off members of the country or not.
