That's what I'm sayin. It's like a bunch of crying schoolchildren.

I don't come here to read the endless amounts of incessant badgering and blatant asinine disrespect towards a company that is trying to bring out collectibles that would not otherwise be made.[/

I'm not sure how exclusive their deal is with LFL, but I have to believe there is a lot of companies that could do the same as SS if afforded the chance. But, I don't know the way these rights work, so I can only assume.

No dude, I'm sorry. I can't agree with this comment. You want to know why? YOU CAN RETURN IT!!!!:gah:

How hard is that for you to understand????? Not just you, but everyone! Hell....it would be blatant disrespect on SS's part if they said, "hell no, you can't return it. We don't care the lighsaber hilt isn't there. Take it in the buttocks like a sucka fwad." Now that's blatant disrespect.

The fact they said, well if you get it and you aren't satisfied with the lack of hilt, you can return it gives YOU a way out. I'm sure SS reps must feel like this sometimes.

Of course you can return it, they would be in some huge trouble if you couldn't. Advertising a product as one thing, providing the consumer with something other than what was promised and then denying that consumer the option to return it?! You really think a company, much less a company as prolific as Sideshow would attempt to go against consumer rights? That isn't respect, it's called not running your business into the ground. OF COURSE YOU CAN RETURN IT.

No one here is complaining about not being to able to get their money back. They're upset they aren't getting what was promised when they preordered this product. They're upset that they weren't provided the courtesy of being notified about the changes before it arrived. They're upset that they got their hopes up on this particular product for the past year only to have it be different than what was promised (this seems more like company policy these days).

Of course you can return it. Does that fix the problem of not having this particular kick-a$$ Obi-Wan statue in your collection? Simple answer is no, no it doesn't. The sad truth is.... Sideshow doesn't care. Another customer is waiting in line to receive this leaning and hilt-less statue. They don't need to go out of their way to make you happy.

This. I'll just quote The Stig, here, 'cause my english sucks, it's school english which isn't really good to express the MOTHER****ING INTERNET RAGE without releasing the fury of the caps lock :D

Most importantly the statue looks great and the missing hilt is minor, most of us would of bought the statue anyway if there was no hilt. Sideshow defintely should of let us know that this piece was not coming with the hilt it's not like we're talking about a different shade of paint here. An item is missing despite being on pictured on the box. Sideshow is doing the right thing by offering a full refund but little more communication would have came a long way (eventhough some people still would of been complaining) Anyway I still can't wait to get this statue on my shelf!!

The reason Sideshow will get away with this again in the future is because people will continue to defend them and act like it's no big deal.

What they did was wrong. Period. Complaints need to be made. If Sideshow wants my respect, they need to earn it.

I agree. If a 1:6 SW figure didn't come with an unignited lightsaber that was advertised and pictured on the product page there would be a holy uprising and I guarantee you it would be rectified pretty quickly. :lol

I think people should give them resonable feedback they made a mistake and it should be addressed within there organization. Eventhough this might be a minor thing to most it still should of been communicated.

Think about international collectors who have to go through the hassle of applying to get their fees back. "You can return it" is a cop out, lazy answer. Unless Sideshow is willing to fill out and submit the paperwork to get people all their money back, I can understand people being upset about this.

Clearly Sideshow should've informed people and their decision not to has just given people even more reasons to criticize them.

Why are people acting like Sideshow is being generous for providing a refund? You do realize you could have returned the statue even without the issues/defects? It's simply a matter of who is footing the shipping and handling bill.

I'm of torn two-minds on this piece.

I think the sculpt is brilliant and all the pieces and details are great. HOWEVER there are a lot of caveats for me.

1. The hilt.
I guess it is in the eye of the beholder but personally I really didn't want to display him with saber in hand, he is wandering the desert, he doesn't have a worried, concerned or angry face so no reason for him to hold up a lit saber.
On top of that Maul came with removable blades so why on earth couldn't Obi-Wan have the same thing???

2. The lean.
I guess it depends on the angle but for me it's very bothersome, I don't like it at all. In all the pics I'm seeing him next to another statue I just feel like he's going to fall on the other guy. I kind of kills the presence of the piece for me.

3. The way this mess has been handled.
SSC is really dropping the ball on this one I feel. The hilt disappeared, it sucks and it's obviously a mistake. They can say that they're going to update the pics in the site but it's still on the freaking BOX!!! I can't believe that no one noticed it before.
Honestly it might not be the case but it really makes you wonder if SSC noticed it and decided not to let people know to avoid cancellations, especially for the fact that Kenobi is $100 more than Maul and i know he's heavy and has lots of pieces but still it rubs the wrong way.
But what really really disappoints me with SSC on this is that they won't even offer a partial refund! Even $30-$40 I think most people would be fine with but they won't. They sent us a product that was completely changed from what we POed, it's even different on the box, but they are acting like it's all good 'not our problem' and it feels like big F YOU to us......

For all those caveats even though I have Maul and I really like him and even though I think the sculpt is great I not sure I will order him and I'm glad I cancelled my WL conversion.

I kept my post civil but I'm REALLY disappointed right now.

Because they can just as well not offer a full refund remember there is a NRD upfront on this staute. Plus I'm not sure where in my post that I'm saying SS is being generous for the refund, so if your going to highlight my post please understand it first. They are doing the right thing regarding offering the full refund including the NRD. The right thing would have been letting their customers know ahead of time.

I find this comment ironic coming from the same person who was just preaching about respect.

:goodpost::exactly:Any company that basically lied to your face for many months in regards to this piece doesnt deserve certain respect...even the freakin box has the hilt on the belt...If Vader Mythos is missing his Saber on belt would it be ok?...you'll hear more uproar that's for sure

I understood it just fine. Saying Sideshow is doing the right by providing a full refund implies that they're being generous. It should be expected that they provide a full refund for this mess. It is the absolute very least they could do. They shouldn't receive kudos for it.

A year or more of flex paying something and anticipating a piece and SS fouls up an important detail accessory they advertised and just say no I'm sorry we can't help you. BS man! Get your crap together SS! :lecture All this excellent CC being talked about is a thing of the past! Nowadays even that excellent SS CC can't keep up with the on going failing QC department and all their upset customers! What we all would prefer I'm guessing is not a small refund, not an option to return it for a full refund, we want you to fix it SS and give it to us the way you originally intended! Stop changing the damn production pieces from the protos! It's BS and people are well within their rights to be pissed off about it!
