Sorry but this comparaison is a pure garbage, because a french collector received today this statue and you can see it's perfect :

Thank Sana for this picture.

Great Pic.
Looks awesome......

The paint looks good.

The Lean is off, but on some it apears not to be there.

The saber hilt missing is BS!

Well that looks much better. But I am guessing it's the angle. Also I would not call the comparison I made garbage because as you can see in that photo as well as others that the lean is very much there. A lean that I don't recall seeing at any angle at SDCC. Go to the product page on the SSC site and use the 360 view. He actually leans a bit more the other way which looks more natural.

Still very off even in this photo. Don't know how or why SS would mess this up. IMO the differnece in the lean changes the who natural beauty ad feel of the statue.

Seems like the lean is only really noticeable from the one angle and I don't see many people posing him looking straight to the viewer.

I would see a lot of people wanting to display him like this

But with the lean it can't be done and look natural at the same time.

It just is really too bad because So much is great about this statue. Oh well.

That's exactly how I wanted him displayed...now without that saber on his belt it wont happen...It looks like Obiwan is out looking for his lost saber now...screw SS for it's stupidity!

The lean, IMO, is a defect, and is worrying to me. How will it hold up over time? I'm just concerned about the longevity of the statue when clearly it's leaning the wrong way.

The missing hilt is a HUGE disappointment, as it takes away from how I would have displayed the piece. I have no interest in displaying him with the lit saber. My guess why they scrapped it was maybe they were finding it was too prone to breakages on the clip in the production process, so decided to eliminate it all together. But I agree with those who stated that Sideshow should have informed the collectors that there was going to be a change.

I caution those who are thinking about breaking the lit saber to get the desired look. You'll probably lose your shirt if you have to resell later on down the line. At $350, this statue is already at the top of the market ceiling, IMO.

All that being said, the detailing on this thing is amazing and the likeness are stunning, especially Ewan's. So close to perfection.

Breakages?...nonsense...all it required was a very small hook on the belt and a saber that would be a seperate piece anyway...a tiny hole, tiny piece of metal and adhesive...that's it....no breakages involved unless this was meant to be one solid piece..then we would be talking about breakages on the items on his back

Damn this is a brilliant looking piece, the Mythos line looks great I think I'm going to have to sell my Marvel pieces to get into this.

It is beautiful and both head sculpts are phenomenal but now youre forced to have him hold a saber...otherwise he's "I've lost my Saber in the Tatoonie Desert and I'm out looking for it Obiwan Sideshow Exclusive"

:lecture :exactly: :goodpost: :lecture

After all this time on the Freaks board it still amazes me how supposed "adults" lose their minds and act like they're back on the playground.

Nobody IMHO is losing their minds...but this was a dumb mistake by Sideshow...The pose I wanted is done and wont happen without that saber on belt

As I just said in the other thread. If people want their complaints to be taken seriously they have to mind what they said and be calculated in how you say it. Flying off the handle or restoring to name calling isn't going to get one very far.

Any interest I had in this line was with Obi-Wan and it died the moment I found out about this hilt debacle. Not sure why they felt it had to go. And then offer up no explanation. Fine. I just won't buy.

What is really surprising is they screwed up on the ES on the bottom of some of the bases. What are those customers suppose to do? I guess all SS has to offer is return it for a full refund. Which is exactly what I'll do if SS keeps turning out pieces that differ as much from their prototypes. Smh
